I`ve yet to go to NCM. However, I agree the time of year is a factor.

Contributions from us little guys is always helpful but landing some  big corporate fish to  lay out some sponsership dollars for better events could work. I don`t know who already is a sponser but a big name attached to an event with some nice give aways  usaully gets my attention. Maybe even raffle off a vintage car.  I like the idea of a special feature cars also,  Mako 1 & 2.  concept and protopye vehicles etc...

This is a GREAT idea!
Must the NCM Raffle Cars be brand new C6s?
Why not a cherry C1, C3 or C3?
Kick off the raflle long before the CCX event, then do the drawing during it.

I love this idea!!

My wife and I attended last year’s event.  Like many have said the cold weather is an issue.  It was cold at the car wash.  We need to get it out of Oct.

I understand the date issue.  All dates already committed.  Here is a suggestion.

Combine the C1 - C3 with the C4/5-C6 event, but promote it as a “C against C” competition.

1.      Make daily events - competitions

a.      Tug-a war Cx against Cx – an elimination competition – Winning group gets named on the “High Compression Piston” trophy.  Trophy on display in NCM for all to see, with group car picture of the winning team.

b.      Fundraiser competition –

                                                               i.      Everyone puts in a buck or two to compete in events.  The winning C group gets the entry fees of a particular event allocated to their contribution pledge.  The C group at the end of the weekend event with the most in their pledge bucket get a group car picture and names hung at the NCM

ii.      People can offer their car to visitors -  A buck donation to have their picture taken setting in their car,  maybe 5 bucks for a spin down the street and back.  ( during my last visit I saw a lot of people that for various reason don’t have or can’t afford a corvette – I let a family set in my car and let them take their picture behind the wheel, you should have seen their faces).

2.      Evening Dinners-  help groups that form at the gathering to find restaurants that can hold 20 or so.   Big gatherings are great and should be part of the event, but one evening where personal groups can get together to bond is great. ( that one evening last year was a high point of the weekend.

3.      Special best of class display -  Let each C group nominate their representative to a special staging show in front of the museum.  “Best of the Best” of each C ever made.

These are just a few suggestions of allowing larger combinations of C groups to get together but still give due justice to all C groups in attendance.

Tom

I've sent the link to this thread to Wendell today.  Hopefully he'll be checking it out soon, and perhaps offering his comments as well.

If anyone else has any feedback for him, please post it here.

Thanks!

C3VR Members...........want everyone to know that we greatly appreciate the suggestions.  We plan to print the suggestions and will be reviewing with Roc.  A couple of immediate thoughts................

1)  We want you all to totally set the format/agenda.  We want it to be what you all want and not what we want for you.  So please keep making suggesting and we will tweak it until it is what you all want.

2)  The date is very flexible from our standpoint.  We have about 7 other events that we will want to work around...........and will be glad to do so.

3)  Marketing - - - this came up several times.  Please give us specific suggestions of what we can do differently.  We do a press release and send to all the Corvette print media (they will generally have some coverage in each of their magazines.  We promote via NCM eNews.  We promote via NCM magazine, America's Sports Car.  We promote to our Ambassadors.  I know we can do better, so lay some ideas on us.

We will have more for the group later, after visiting with Roc.  The ones we touched on above seemed to be the ones suggested the most.

Later,

Wendell

Vette(s): 1979 one owner L48 auto, silver with oyster interior, and 2001 coupe, torch red with light oak interior, museum delivery.

October is not a good month for us since we go to Eureka Springs the first weekend of October and can't get away again.  Something special would probably help also, C3 concept cars sounds like a good idea.
