If we don't want any political, religious, or whatever conversations on the NON VETTE DISCUSSION then let's vote to abolish it. Or... do something much more simple. DON'T READ IT!

I agree with Sarge81. No one is forcing you to read it.
As for regional C3 events, I think that would be great.
Who wants to be the first to volunteer to hold one in their area? If you belong to a local club, see if the other C3 owners/members would be interested in helping you put on an event.
Or have a special C3 meeting at an already scheduled event in 2005.
Remember, Adam can't do it all. Step up to the plate and take a swing.

Sarge, I have stopped reading them. I doubt that any one's views and opinions on religion and politics were changed by what's been posted here. I just think they are an emotional distraction from the intended purpose of this forum and could make it more difficult to attract people. who knows, maybe this is a moot point after 11/2. just think it's something we should address.

I too agree with the above links and offer a suggestion. I belong to a club in Georgia that had the same dilemma. To offer an alternative they created a "No Holds Bar" area where you have to obtain permission from the web-master to be allowed in. Anything (within guidelines) not pertaining to corvettes was posted. This might be a solution.. Take a look at www.peachstateposse.com to see what I mean...
As a new member, I would really like to see the focus remain on corvettes... That's why I'm here!

Alright, let me see if I can set everyone straight on this political/religious topic....
This site is OBVIOUSLY dedicated to Corvettes, and more specifically the C3 generation of Corvettes. Out of the over TWO DOZEN forum categories, only ONE category is for Non-Vette Discussion. And inside that ONE category are topics on everything, not just religon and politics. So by definition, very little of this site is used for political/religious discussion. So there is nothing to be cut back. Nor is there a need to censor this type of discussion, provided it is kept to the Non-Vette Discussion area in a calm and adult manner. If you don't want to take part in ANY topic, regardless of what it is about... simple stay out of it. Don't read it, don't reply, etc.
Thanks to everyone for sharing their opinion on the matter, but I really think it needs no further discussion.

Adam,
I tried to open the New Member Information Flyer, but I get a message "The Compressed (zipped) Folder is invalid or corrupted."
I tried all three versions and got the same message.
I am using Internet Explorer.
I do not have Win Zip. Is that my problem?
Can you make them jpeg or pdf files that can be printed?
Dave
