I also joined before I owned my vette. I joined when Colleen got her vette just because I could see lots of knowledge and advice being given. I even signed up as a moderator before I owned a vette. This forum has made me more of a vette lover than a bike lover. $10.00 is cheaper than the Haynes manual I bought on ebay. $10.00 is what we all pay for the beer we drink too. What is better than having a brew and hanging out with Vette friends? Well, the wife is asleep!

After one question that to others may have been seen as stupid, i realized that the money that i saved, while being shown respect, was more than i needed to pay to be a Lifetime member. So, that was the investment that i made, i spent the money saved here, and can honestly say that i have saved that much and more from the advice that i have recieved for free.
I would like to add that advice is usually worth what you pay for it, except that here, we have enough true knowledgeable mechanics who are a regular part of it, when advice is wrong, its called as wrong.
The $10 a year that anybody would spend here is most assuredly saved by not paying for mistakes. It should be considered an investment in owning your classic C3, just as much or more then the various mechanical manuals, which are more expensive.

I found this site shortly after I bought my 70 vert, My first post , on any website, was here. I asked about the wieght limit on the luggage rack for my daughters wheelchair, with in minutes there was a couple of responses, mostly the same answer, told me that they all were comfortable with there knowledge, not just pulling thoughts out of thin air. I started checking into the site every day, some times two or three times a day, Bare in mind that I have NO mechanical skills what so ever, and it is because of the people here that I can ask any question, the very simple, and I have never once been made to feel like a moron. I had a little tail light trouble once, posted it, got answers, fixed the trouble, saved money, became lifetime member. This site is more than just a web group, this site is my socail life, my outlet, my friends. I gave up smokin', drinkin' and druggin' only to pick up a new addiction, maybe need c3vr rehab? If you come here, stay here, pay the $10.00, that is has little as.0274 cents a day, or five easy payments of $2.00 (lol) What I am saying is simple you can not and will not find a better internet site with the knowledge and love that this site provides, Thank you to all that have help....
Larry.

Vette(s): 73 Conv, Blue-Green/White Top - 454, M21 - Dark Saddle Leather, Power Windows, A/C, Tilt/Tele, AM/FM St. (orig. and sounds like it too).#2 -- 2007 Coupe,3 LT package, Z51 option, Victory Red, Ebony Int. Clear Top.
As a new member I gotta say... I wish I had found this site before I bought my '73. Talk about feeling welcome. The fact it is C3 specific... cuts right to the chase. If you need an answer... you will get it quisker than the book... I also like the fact that people here "really" care about their cars (especially Vettes) and keeping the Corvette alive. There is plenty of encouragement, enthusiasm and "mostly" info/help to "do-it-yorself", and feeling good after doing it... that alone is worth $10 (priceless). Geez... sounds like a commercial I've seen...
. Anyway... I will become a "lifetime" member next... Hopefully we will be able to get to the Spring Fling and put some faces to vettes and names. Fortunately my fiancee is "Car Crazy" too and will go anywher in the Vette. Hey maybe we can marry at the NCM

I had always wanted a vette, but after I bought one I realized that all the time I had spent working on a Chevelle had very little to do with a C3 and all it's quarks. I went online and found C3VR. Originally I joined because it was free, but I have been a gold member now for two years, and it is definately worth it. I've got tips that have helped me far beyond what I knew. It is a great place to talk with fellow owners, and share vette unique experiences. I've looked at other forums but have not joined. I may drop in and use the other ones time to time, but C3VR is where I put my support.

hi, my name is Hank and I'm mechanically challenged. they say confession is good for the soul. well, this site is great for guys like me. I learn about my car, I learn what I can and can't do before I get into trouble, I learn what mods make sense and in what order, I learn about products and where to buy them and I am inspired by the passion these members have for their cars.
for whatever reason you would hesitate to spend the $10 ,financial or principle, stick around a while. keep an open mind. these guys will fill it with invaluable information.
I only have one complaint. I wish some one would have talked me out of replacing the PB booster myself. those four nuts under the dash were a killer.

Vette(s): 1979, 350sb, as my kids affectionately call it "shit brown" Corvette purchased in 1996. 84,000+ miles. Not a show car, but I love her just the same.
Whether it's the cost of a standard, Gold, or Lifetime membership, I'm going to suggest that 9 times out of 10 you are going to save the cost of the membership on the first "repair", "modification", or "improvement" you decide to request advice on from the members of C3VR.
A few months back I had problems with my alternator (I'm mechanically challenged, as well as many other Vette lovers on this forum) and took it in to be tested. The alternator shop suggested it was "toast", so I stated the problems I was having here on the web, and low and behold I was given good advice from the good people who dwell here. I tore into my first alternator, ever, replaced a $5 or $10 part rather than purchasing a whole new alternator that would have cost me between $50 and $70, had the alternator "rebuilt" in less than an hour, and back on the Vette within two!
In my book, that's money well spent...not only in cost of parts but experience from a group of people who tend to stick together, and have the same passion for the same thing...C3's!
If you own a C3, or are thinking of purchasing a C3, this is the site for you! This site is FUBU! FOR US C3 vette lovers and owners, BY US C3 vette lovers and owners!
Spend the ten bucks, you won't be disappointed. And unlike that new DVD you just bought for twice that price, you can come back here daily and never seen the same movie twice.

I became a lifetime member shortly after my wife & I bought our 74 coupe & realized that we knew nothing about the car.
I'm a member at several different Corvette forums on the internet but
this one is special. It is the only forum to specifically focus on the
C3 generation.
There is a lot of knowledge here but more importantly its the quality of that knowledge & the experience & friendliness of the folks that make up this forum that's important to me. Becoming a lifetime member seemed obvious after I learned that the membership could be paid for in installments. All in all its a cool site.

Man it's only ten bucks a year, thats less than twenty cents a week! You just cant get the quality of info and help like there is on here,if you have a problem, everybody is willing to jump in and give you a hand with it.and there are some great discussions on every topic on C3s that you can think of.I have been in here for over a year and a half, and the money I've saved already ,doing the stuff myself, with the help of this group, has saved me Hundreds of dollars. There is a good cross section of Men and Women in here, teachers and students, shade tree mechanics and top of the line proffessional mechanics, working stiffs and top flite execs, all with one thing in common,The C3 CORVETTE,Come on in the water is always great ,in the SHARK POND; RON 78

If I was getting charged based on my usage, it would be more than 10 bucks.
There are several threads that I have been helped by and I'm sure that there are future threads that will be helpful to me.
That is why I will be upgrading my membership next time around.
