|QUOTE|Norsky said: The main forums page is great, but it would be nice to not have to go there all the time to change forums. Converting either the Forums tab or the C3VR Forums link to a drop down of available forums would help us "56k-ers" save some quality time when traversing between forums.|/QUOTE|
Jim & Everyone...
In case you hadn't noticed, I added a "Forum Jump" box to the bottom right of the Message List page and Message View page.
Enjoy!

|QUOTE|82dukman said: Adam, how about a product test area. Where members can put down their experiences with a particular item and whether it was easy to install, worth the money, etc.?|/QUOTE|
Think that should be a Forum or an actual Section of the site?

I think maybe putting a "tab" in the area where the tabs for Home, Forums, Email, etc. are and when you click on it, the redirection could be broken up into sections such as Interior, exterior, exhaust, etc. What do you think? Is it possible?

|QUOTE|82dukman said: OK one more. How about a forum, where we can test pics to see if they show up? I know sites like Geocities, Tripod and some others won't show up on different forum boards due to their software makeup.|/QUOTE|
Interesting idea, but I can't see devoting an entire Forum to that.
Also, Everyone can test pictures in a post simply by pressing the "Preview" button!
You shouldn't even need to "Post" a test message, at least not until it looks right in the "Preview"
That make sense?

Hey Adam,
As the C3VR membership grows (which is great!) and the length of some posting threads increases (which is also great!) the amount of new pictures appearing in signatures is on the rise (always nice to see another "new" Vette!). A downside to this increase in picture volume is that I have noticed page loading times are on the rise as well. I don't know if anyone else has experienced this, but being on a 56k modem (which seldom hooks up even close to that baud rate) I notice it quite a bit. I know you and I have discussed before the fact that most of the site is basically text which loads very quickly. But the increase in the amount of graphical data (pictures) coming across the line does take some additional time. A few thoughts come to mind.
(1) Ask everyone to review their signature picture and reduce the size of it a little bit. I'm not saying reducing them to thumbnail size, but quite a few could easily be reduced by half and still be very easy (and most enjoyable!) to see.
(2) Ask everyone to be a little more conscious in the use of their signature when replying multiple times in a thread.
(3) Allow for a secondary signature to be created, without the image option, which could be used after the initial post or reply in a thread (either manually or automatically).
I certainly don't want to stifle anyone in the visual sharing of their pride(s) and joy(s) because I do really enjoy seeing all of them and I know others do as well. Just save the BIGger pictures for the Vette Picture URL on the Profile page and the three Photo URLs on the Registration page.
