Vette(s): Used to own a 1979 Corvette now owned by JB79

Obviously, I have installed the new forum software.

The new features truely out perform the old software!  So if it takes a little time to get used to the new stuff, it will be worth it!

Almost everything transfered over ok.  One thing that didn't make it were forum signatures.  You need click the "Settings" button above and create a new forum signature. The signature if your C3VR Profile is no longer valid, and I will actually be removing it from the profile page soon.  You can copy it over, but you have to update any TAGS you have to use the new (more common) TAGS.  | have to be replaced with [ and ] as in |URL| has to be replaced with [ URL ] (without the spaces)

Oh, and you'll probably want to change your "Time offset from forum time" in your Settings too.

There are a few kinks that I still have to work out.

  • The forum update emails need to be pointed to the new forum
  • The "Printable Version" function doesn't work correctly
  • FIXED 2/9/05: There are issues if you are not logged in and try to go directly to a post.
  • Need to remove the blue bar from the left side of all pages on the entire site.
  • Consolidate lesser used forums
  • Add old favorite Emoticons
  • Click on the poster's name and see their C3VR profile.
  • Link at bottom of the message view page that will take me back to the top of the current forum's list of topics
  • Page numbers at top of message view page
  • Signature in the "preview post"
  • Moderator stuff:
    • When editing, Sticky topic doesn't change to previous setting.
    • FIXED 2/9/05: Move feature 2nd page not working right.

Please email me immediately (AdamW@C3VR.com) if you have trouble or find problems!  I will add and delete items from the To-Do list above as I fix and/or find new issues.

Thank you for your patience as we transition to the new software.

I tried to move my sig from the old c3vr profile to the new one under setting as you suggested..

It has a limit of 200 characters..  I use a couple of small images with refs to the larger images..  and it is 716 characters..

are you planning on changing the character limit ?

another thing..  in the new profile settings..  there seems to be quite a bit of replication between the pages...

i think i saw three places to enter your sig..

i do like the scanning for active messages in the last <variable> function..  thats pretty slick..

Looks pretty good so far.

As for the kinks... well, what's a kink or two amongst friends.   It tends to make life a little more interesting.

About the smilies... I   them.

I like it... looks easy to use... I'm surprised there aren't more bugs the first try... replies work better... way to go...

I ran into the same problem.  200 characters is pretty small when you have to add all the URL and file path junk.
