Topic: New Forum Software
in Forum: Official C3 Vette Registry News and Information
Mike,
This may seem a bit confusing but basically the only thing on the site that changed was the software handling the forums. All of the other pieces of the site remained the same.
That being said, the new forum-ware has its own profile - which is separate from the 'old' profile. You in a sense have two profiles now - one for the site and one for the forums.
Adam has carried over as much as possible from the old to the new but there were a few things missed and there are still a few things that need to be sorted out. Hopefully everything will be squared away in as short a period of time as possible. Watch for updates on the fixes/patched/etc from Adam as we all work through this transition.
Thanks...!!!

I STILL have the feeling that I am fighting this new software...did add a new profile...(minus the pictures) my notifications about uptates to the forum that I receive via e-mail daily do not seem to direct me to the correct areas.. and if there are 5 replies to a question and I want to reply to the 3rd reply in the list I do not see anyplace to do that..I must scrol down and post my reply to the last post...
In General ...I am just an old dog having a hell of a time learning a new trick... so to speak.... BUT I keep seeing that not much has really changed...Time for a Bloddy Mary !

I didn't update my picture on my first post. Hope it works!
I did notice that preview does not show the picture, so you have to post the reply to be able to tell if the signature preference was updated correctly. Seems a waste of space on the database!
Is it me or is there a problem with read/un-read icons? Seems like in a forum all messages are showing as "read", but in the Forum list it still shows that particular Forum has unread messages.
Also, I don't see a way to mark messages "all read". I really liked that feature on the old software. Is there a way to do that now?
Eric, I'm wrestling with the read/unread icons as well (along with a few other things). For the time-being I'm using the 'Active Topics' list to narrow the search of things I need to look at.
I haven't found a 'Mark as Read' at the individual forum level yet, but there is a link at the bottom of the main forum list. My assumption is that it marks all of the unread threads in all of the forums as read.
I like the new look. Keep up the great
work Adam.

P.S. What happened to the WAVEY emoticon?
