I've been running C3VR for 5 years.  Over the years, it has gotten more difficult to maintain because of the growth of membership.  Also, I have a child, wife, full-time job, my wife works part-time and I have house to maintain.  I also have Corvettes for a Cure to produce once per year.  Because of these things, it has been increasingly difficult for me to do the things that need to be done for C3VR.

Two of my biggest challenges are putting together Shark Bytes on a quarterly basis; and the Annual C3VR Member Gathering.

Shark Bytes winter 2007 is due out now.  I haven't even started on it.  I also have no new articles to put in it.  It would only be news about C3VR.  Honestly, I'd love to get rid of Shark Bytes but I think too many people would be upset.  It is also one of the things that sets Gold Members apart from Standard Members.

The Gathering dates, location and hotels have been set, but that is it.  I have no itinerary planned.

I need help with these two things most!

I could also use help with maintaining membership cards for Gold & Lifetime Members.

I do have some help with Corvettes for a Cure, which is great!

It is no secret that this is a business for me.  I make a little money, but obviously not enough for it to be my full time job. If it were, I wouldn't need to ask for help.  So if what it takes to get some help is to pay people, then I will.  I am desperate for help.  I certainly don't want C3VR to fall apart.  I want it to maintain the level of quality that you have come to expect.

Please let me know via email or reply to this thread if you are willing/able to help and in what capacity.

Thank you.

P.S. I should thank Norsky here!  He has helped me with support via member emails and other member online issues for a few years now.  Also, Adams' Apple has stepped up without being asked to help members with photo/signature issues.  If these guys weren't out there helping members, my workload would be even greater.  THANKS GUYS!

While C3VR started as a hobby (and a small business) for Adam, it is a CLUB for the rest of us.  And this club has grown a lot in 5 years...!!!

Those who attended the 2006 Member's Meeting will remember the discussions surrounding the need for volunteers to help with selected activities/duties/events/functions/etc. (Here's the meeting minutes to refresh memories.)  There are also several threads in various places related to the topic of volunteering.

There already is a contingient of volunters helping to maintain the "quality of life" here at C3VR.  They're the unheralded group of folks who have offered up some of their time to be forum moderators.  Because of their vigilance C3VR has a safe and welcoming environment for all of us.  (THANK YOU...!!!  THANK YOU...!!!  THANK YOU...!!!)

But there are a lot of other aspects of the club that need extra hands and minds.  Please step up and answer the call for assistance.  I know you'll enjoy it.  I can't begin to tell you how much enjoyment I've gotten from my involvement in the day to day activities of the club.

Adam,

I live 75 miles north of tahoe and went to high school in Tahoe City so I'm familiar with the area. I might be able to help with the itinerary. This is my first gathering so I'm not sure what all you want to do, I'm asuming road trips to various areas. I'm willing to help out, just let me know what you need.

Jeff

Adam (and Norsky),

Are there any daily/weekly activities that you perform on the site which can be shared among a couple of members,  thus freeing up some of your time? If so, can you list them?  I'd be willing to help out in some way.  [I have to be honest though, I would not be able to help out with Shark Bytes or this year's itinerary.]

I've been a member for quite a while and even though my post count doesn't reflect it, I visit the site on almost a daily basis.

What type of help do you need in maintaining the membership cards?

Adam-

I'd be glad to help if I can.  I have a fairly extensive background with databases (MS Access, Oracle, little SQL Server.)  I maintain the membership database for the yacht club we belong to.  Never learned web programming, though.  I'm not too familiar with desktop publishing so don't know how much help I'd be with Shark Bytes.

Let me know if you think I can be of assistance....

adam, biff had a great idea as far as helping out on the site. i think it would be easier for you to list some of the things and a short explaination for the things you need help with on the site. this way you wouldn't have to send each and every member the same list and be flooded with a lot of emails. this way hopefully any member can tell you what they might be best suited to do.  unfortunately i will not be able to make the trip so i cant help with that but maybe on the site i can lend some help as i usually stop here every day. btw...just got my lifetime membership stuff and as i expected everything is great.

Adam, I'd just love to help out but the only obstacle in the way is the Pacific Ocean.  I'm sure there will be plenty in the CONUS who will stick their hand up and be counted.

I'd hate to see this site and, as has been said, CLUB go down the shute due to lack of hands to keep it going.

Anything that can be done from the largest Island in the world, just send me a request.
