Vette(s): 1982 C3 Collectors Edition 44000 miles, sat in the sun most of its life, My wife purchased it for me for Father's Day in 2007 from her girlfriend that had it for 19 years. It is on the road again. I'm retired but it is now my daily driver.
Topic was the survey I thought it was a good one will you publish the results or at least a summary. Being a Six Sigma Black Belt (ebo may be the only one to know what that is) I would like to see the numbers. Next two cents worth, Yes there seem to be clicks especially on the live talk time I no longer attempt to visit then.
But as you said jokes on a post with advice is great.
I became a life member because of the help I received and continue to receive. and the fact that hearing the knowledge and the banter between people made me want to have an opportunity to meet some of you guys even if most of you are on the wrong side of the country.
I like the money filter if you own a c3 you better be able to afford the cost of this forum or just sell the vet.
I think Adam was saying that Banter was good just provide some meaningful information or a really funny story that everyone can relate. I would like to see a collection of the funniest stories in a future Shark Bite (now that is off topic)

I second Gilbert's request for the numbers.

1:The site is only good if you want to know where the red wire goes.
2:Does not encourage new folks to stick around if you are not doing all the work on your car yourself.
3:Canadian members should also be treated the same. That isnt happening.[/quote]
Otay....I just did the survey. I wasn't gonna this year, but I did because of this particular response/feedback.
On point 1: Some folks only want to know where the red wire goes. Once they get that info, we may never hear from them again. However...we do know where all of the other different colored wires go, too. This site was begun as a place for folks to come for technical info...it still is that place. We just got more friendly.
Point 2: I have been a member here since '03....I can't think of any situation where anyone was told they didn't belong here if they couldn't twist their own wrenches. True, SOME jobs might require, or we might suggest profession assistance, but I don't think anyone here has ever discouraged anyone from doing their own work, if possible.
Point 3: What?
How are we treating Canadians differently? I, for
one, don't even look to see where the member is from when responding to a
post. We have several Canadian members that post here regularly.
(comment removed...I shouldn't post when t-ed off)

I normally dont reply to this type of thread, however this time I feel I need to.
I, like Joel dont look at where a person is from when I reply.
I was once a trial member myself and it was before I bought my first vette. The information and kindness I received from this group is want convinced me to be an ongoing member.
I look forward to checking out this site every day. Actually many times every day!
The jokes that come with replys are fine by me even though I may have no idea what some of them mean. I just realize that the person posting has an inside joke with the person replying too. I wish I was as "canny" / "jokester" as some of the regular members that post here.
As for the staying on topic, to be honest I read every thread everyday, when I have a question I usually post it versus research something from the past. This way I get to chat/talk to someone on how or why and most times you will also get a reference to a past link anyway that you can get past experience from.
So to sum up my thoughts, I am happy to be part of the best Corvette site on the web, just as it is operating now and has been since I was given the privilege to be a member.
Thanks to all the members that make up this group!

I think that this is by far one of the most useful websites I've ever dealt with. Car related or not. There are a group of very special people here that all share a passion.......
Yes we may joke and carry on , but the help given and the friendships Ive built with other members has proven priceless to me.

And your point of view on the matter (well, yours and others that share the same opinion) is the reason I'm not asking people to stop joking around all together. That would take away a huge part of what most people like about this place. There are some that like it, some that don't. We just have to try to find the happy medium.

Vette(s): 1981 Great White Shark. Red Interior, 350/190 hp. PS, PB (SS), A/C CC, T-Tops. Served three years in Active Duty Army, then Retired Air Force after 34 years! Badger State Vettes Car Club. 175,000 Original miles!! Now own a 1998 C-5!
My 2 cents?? I joined this site because I own a C-3. I like to tear thing apart and see how they work then put them back together. Yes I have made mistakes but most of my answers about my C-3 have come from this group of people. I have made many friends and plan to "keep them close"
We are all human, we make mistakes and then we correct our mistakes and "keep on crusin down the road" What a great bunch of guys and gals we have here!!!!

You need to take a working vacation to San Diego.
I hate tearing things apart because I have a trouble getting them back it the correct spot again. I just like cruising. I have converted three others to Corvettes at church all Elders working on the minister and a couple of more members.
This site has been invaluable in keeping my C3 running.
Back to your vacation plans. I have a long list of things that you could fix on your working vacation. Keep you real happy
. Would even feed you if you did not eat much.
