I'm working on a project an could use your help.
Please answer the following questions. If you don't feel comfortable replying to this thread and being public with your reply, please PM or email me.
Thanks.

1a) Why did you become a member? (for NEW paid members)
1b) Why do you continue to be a member (for RENEW or LIFE members)
2) What value(s) do you feel you are getting by being a member?
3) How do you value your membership here compared to similar memberships (paid or not). In other words...what differentiates C3VR from other similar sites?

Vette(s): 1971 convertible,375 HP 350ci,Muncie 4-speed,Edelbrock aluminum heads and RPM air-gap manifold,HEI distrubiter - old school mechanical tach drive. LOUD side exhaust!
1b) I became a lifetime member when I got the vette. I had already received a bunch of help, and buying a lifetime membership was the best way for me to return the favor.

2) Help, help, and more help. There is also a great sense of community here.

3) This is the only car site that I subscribe to. I vist other forums, but there is too much bickeing and b.s. to warrant me giving them money.

1b - I can't find anyone else to be the SB editor?Rolling%20On%20The%20Floor%20Laughing  I not only continue to get awesome and timely advice, but also this place is like a virtual family.  I have made some friends and hope to make more in the future at the gathering and the regional events.  I also enjoy giving back the knowledge I have picked up from working on my car thanks to the knowledge folks have shared here.  I always try to cover a thread if it sits there more than 3 hours without a response if I see it, even if it is just to say you might want to talk to this or that person or PM them.

2 - Trust, mutual respect, friendship, camaraderie, concern from and for others.  These are things that I have yet to find on other sites I have visited or joined.

3 - I put this site head and shoulders above the rest (with the exception of Vette Dogs videos and DC's babe sectionRolling%20On%20The%20Floor%20LaughingRolling%20On%20The%20Floor%20LaughingRolling%20On%20The%20Floor%20Laughing) and I am glad every time I visit CF that we aren't like that and I sincerely hope we never get that way.  As long as this stays a non-corporate site, I think we will be fine.  We are a select subset niche of the corvette enthusiast hobby, whether we are racers, waxers, cruisers or a combo of all.  We all have in common the preservation of a small piece of American History and as those caretakers, we have a common goal and mutual desire to see each other succeed.  I have not ever experienced that on any other group I have been around on the net.

Hope this helps.

1b: Just makes sense...ton of info and help from all walks of life. I enjoy helping other Vette freaks, as well as getting help when I need it. I became a Lifer because it is worth it. The money was secondary to the friendships I have forged with MANY folks here.

2: The thing that is important, other than what I stated above, is the info I get from folks that do things differently that I do. I prefer original/stockers, but I get to keep up on the latest hi-tech stuff that is available for Sharks, whether engine related, interior, or chassis mods/up-grades. You can't get that anywhere else, as it relates to Shark cars. If it CAN be done, someone here has done it, and knows whether or not it's worth the effort.

3:I only go to a couple of other Corvette related sites. Don't need to...don't want to. C3VR is by far the most user-friendly Corvette site on the web. The other places have too much BS, from too many "experts" for my tastes. I see nothing but honest, well informed replies here, not the usual "You're an idiot" type stuff I see on other sites.
This is, as has been discussed before, more of a "Club" than an internet web-site. C3VR is more of a family, all sharing a bond. That bond is the '68-'82 Corvette. Other sites allow us on there...C3VR INVITES and WELCOMES us. No question too stupid...we're ALL here to help the next member with a problem, whatever it may be. Some of us have been dealing with Corvettes for many years...some have just gotten their first. Doesn't matter...you're family here.

C3VR isn't "Stiff" feeling like the other places...more relaxed.
Come on in and sit a spell,

I agree with all the above
1B:Because of the support everyone gives to one another. Not just in know how on fixing the vettes but family support as well.

2 Learn about vettes all aspects. A chance to meet new people and gain friends along the way. Wish I could make it to all gatherings!Cry

3 I do go to other sites when I need info like fixing the daughters Mazda MX6 or the BMW but this is the only site I participate in. It feels more like friends and familyBig%20smile. Was on one of the other vette sites at first, but then found this one. This site has none of the put downs or "I know more that you so I am right" type of stuff.

Vette(s): 1965-327 coupe, 1968-small block coupe, 1969-427, 1971-454 coupe and currently a 1976-ZZ4 coupe reborn again,and hotter than ever.. Add a 1996 CE LT-4 for backup
I consider it family, emails, on site chat, phone calls, what ever it is, no matter what subject, help and my needs are met here and through the membership. I have not seen that anyplace else, as you get to know more members the family grows..The support is of a grand scale here at C3VR. Like most core members we are here several times a day..I have been to other sites for questions and information about other then C3 Corvettes..You don't have to its all right here, so many members have more then one Corvette, the talent of some members are way beyond the talent  of anything I can find. Adam, you have it all right here don't need to go any place else. We are all lucky you started this. The value of this is beyond wealth, you are making history at least until petroleum runs out..

1b.  When I started looking for a vette, this is not the first vette forum that I found but when I stumbled onto C3VR it was obvious that there was something different about it.  I renewed because I cant imagine not coming here. During an average day, I’m here 4-5 times checking for new posts.  I am a member of other forums and that leads to the biggest reason I renewed ….. the PEOPLE.  There is an attitude of helpfulness, maturity, and cooperation here, not bickering ,belittling and BS like I see elsewhere.  I have found no other place on the web like this forum… don’t think there is one.

2. I value my membership in the friends I have made here and in the help I have received and will continue to receive from other members here. I also enjoy sharing what little knowledge I have with other vette owners. There is no other place to get this kind and quality of information on the cars we love.

3.  There is no comparison to the value I receive here and at the other places.  Yes, I visit other vette forums and have picked up some good ideas there but rarely post there.  Gauged by  the information provided and the “feel” they have, they do not compare to C3VR.  A lot of credit must go to the site founder and the moderators who “ride herd” on the forum to make sure we don’t become like the other places.

Vette(s): had a really nice one. sold it to a good friend. Purchased 2004 custom coupe in Feb. 2009 did not tell anyone here until August 2009. BAD I KNOW.
Okay I joined and became a lifetime membership was simply, value for the buck, I mean I never planned on leaving the site so it made since to go life.  I found this site right after I got the vette.  I am a novice when it comes to tech and working on the corvette so all of the expert help  is for the other members (at this time) The people here is why I stay here. The people are worth the most to me, I log on to this website at least 3 times a day, This is my connection to meaningful relationships, this is my lifeline to real freindships, not sounding sad or anything, just facts.  have met great people in which i have real like interest with which has led to real freinds. the other thing that is unique is the freinds i feel i have out there across the nation that i have not phyiscally met yet, this is so much more than just a web site and i would wager a guess that 75 percent of the members say the same thing hope this helps.

Vette(s): 1975 Stingray Nomad Wagon, with Daytona front, custom hood scoop, dual side vents; 420HP 350; Doug Nash 5 speed; 1980 rear end W/4:11 gears; Cherry Red metallic paint.

1. I became a member because the first C3 I ever owned was a project car, and I knew I would need all the help I could get for all the uniqueness to our cars.

1b. I became a Lifer because I fell deep with the fever for said project car, and realizing that I would be in C3VR (as well as other Vette forums) for the rest of my life, being a lifetime member only made sense. Given the possibility of being here for (yes I am serious) 20 years, its cheaper and easier then renewal fees.

2. I get 2 values from C3VR. First off, any questions I have about my C3 are quickly and correctly answered. But, I have also found that this site accepts me and my Vette wagon, even if its not appreciated by everybody, it is respected by the group.  Flaming and insulting isn’t allowed here, which in itself sets it above the rest.

3. The difference between C3VR and the others relate to both the values I get from here. There is more friendship here then all the other sites combined (yes, I do belong to ALL the other sites, I search out new ones). And, here more than anywhere, you get the quick and correct answers to what makes our C3s special. Not just the things any shade tree mechanic can answer, but about the things that are C3 specific.

1b. When I realized I was on the site just about every day for over a year, it just made sense to become a lifetime member. I'm here because I need help and because I'm able to help others.
2. Knowledge is the biggest value for me. I thought I knew a lot about vettes, but since I found this site I've learned something new just about every day. A very close second are the people here. I've never met a nicer bunch of guys and gals, who are always ready with advice, support, and friendship.
3. I had memberships to other vette sites but let them all lapse. None were comparable to C3VR because they seemed to be dominated by the C5 and C6 owners, and covered topics about their cars. Again, the people, the people, the people. It kind of feels like a great big extended family, who knows what it is to love and own a C3. And it's cheaper than therapy!
