1b) Why do you continue to be a member (for RENEW or LIFE members)
It is cheap entertainment.
2) What value(s) do you feel you are getting by being a member?
2) What value(s) do you feel you are getting by being a member?
Continually learning about my Vette as well as other Vettes.
Making friends with like minded people.
3) How do you value your membership here compared to similar memberships (paid or not). In other words...what differentiates C3VR from other similar sites?
3) How do you value your membership here compared to similar memberships (paid or not). In other words...what differentiates C3VR from other similar sites?
I don't belong to or visit any other sites, so I can't fairly compare. C3VR has everything I need.

There is maybe only one other internet site/club that I have encountered to date that is even close to C3VR in terms of respect for the car AND their owners (it happens to be a non-C3 group). I think that is because it is a smaller, more focused, and dedicated group like C3VR is. The other sites that I check into occasionally, both Corvette and non-Corvette, are such high traffic places that it is hard to find any meaningful information and to develop any relationships with people (not to mention all the B.S. and such). C3VR is my club of choice because of the people.
I found C3VR through the recommendation of a member on a different Corvette site. I joined shortly after that because I saw there was a real love and respect for both the cars AND the people. Knowing that nothing is "free" on the internet joining was really a selfish thing - by helping to support the existence of the site it (hopefully) wouldn't go away and I wouldn't lose a valuable resource for learning about my car.
1b) Why do you continue to be a member (for RENEW or LIFE members)
I upgraded to "Lifer" because I plan to be here for as long as I'm able to sit in front of a computer. That is because of the friendships I've made and the knowledge I've gained from others about not only my C3, but other gens, other cars, and life in general.
2) What value(s) do you feel you are getting by being a member?
I have always been interested in cars and over the years have become an ok driveway wrencher able to do the simple maintenance tasks on every vehicle I've owned. There are a lot of things I know I am not capable of doing but before sending the car off to have some work done I've asked some questions. With the helpful anwsers (plus the encouragement) I found that I have been capable of doing the work myself. The money I've saved has by far made the membership investment one of the best decisions I've ever made. Plus I have the satisfaction of being able to say "I've done that" and have done my part to keep an American Classic on the road for a little longer.

1.a .I first joined shortly after i bought my car. I wqasn`t quite sure what to expect. I was basically looking to share my interest with others.
1B. After visiting the site for awhile i realised the potential for information and how willing everyone was to put in their contributions.
2. during my first year the help i recieved from the members with issues about my car was phenomimal. It didn`t matter how trivial the questions. the willingness to help navigate the site and the commraderie experienced here is priceless. That is why I upgraded to alifetime member.
this year I have met several members and hope to meet others in the future.
3. i had visited other sites, but i just didn`t get that warm fuzzy feeling
.

besides we are more specific in our interest which makes it more enjoyable for me.

I enjoy the cars and the members. I would like to give back some of what has been given to me. In knowlege and friendship.
2) What value(s) do you feel you are getting by being a member?
Mechanical knowledge, Social development.
3) How do you value your membership here compared to similar memberships (paid or not). In other words...what differentiates C3VR from other similar sites?
C3VR is my on-line home. I enjoy certain aspects of the other sites that aren't available here or to extend my Corvette research / knowledge.

I became a Lifetime member because this site is unlike other sites. The people here are much more friendly and the site has more of a family atmosphere about it. Also if you have a problem, there is probably nothing that can't be answered on C3VR.
2) What value(s) do you feel you are getting by being a member?
The value of having people virtually at my finger-tips that can answer questions about my Vatte. Friendship with other C3 Corvette owners, you don't get this on a site full of 5th and 6th generation Vette owners.
3) How do you value your membership here compared to similar memberships (paid or not). In other words...what differentiates C3VR from other similar sites?
I value my membership on the C3VR there highly, I log on to this more then any other site on the entire internet. As mentioned above, I have virtually disappeared on other site. What makes us different? See answer 2.

1b) I'm a paid member because of the great attitude of the folks on this forum and also because the other forums don't focus on C3s too much. Also, we have a great mix from strictly factory original guys to some with wild customs. There isn't much you can ask this crowd that someone hasn't seen before.
2) Main value is getting some questions answered, occasionally the opportunity to help someone else, and just learn from other posts that may not apply to me specifically or right now. Also like the idea of the annual bash and the regional get togethers. I'm hoping t make Little Rock and maybe a Northern Ohio get together this summer. I'd love to do a get together here around Cincinnati sometime, if I can just get my butt going to get it together.
3) Strict focus on C3s is huge. I also frequent the site of the "anal retentive restorers" (no offense guys, just kiddin :) They have great guys, many of them are extremely knowledgeable, but generally not a lot of conversation about any C3s past the chrome bumper years. In general, I don't think they value my soft-bumper, 190HP '81, even though it is one of only like 48,000 made ;)
1b) Why do you continue to be a member (for RENEW or LIFE members)
Well the primary reason to stay a member is the vast wealth of experience & technical know how that's concentrated here. But more importantly its the people behind the cars that I want to get to know. The C3VR is more like a get together at a friend's house & swapping out an engine than some of the other larger forums where you have to talk in hushed tones lest a moderator erase your posts.
2) What value(s) do you feel you are getting by being a member?
Everything listed above, plus being able to conveniently search for parts on Ebay & getting answers that are to the point. Most other threads on different forums tend to be loaded with fluff answers that aren't helpful or pertinent.

I am one of the few paying members of corvetteforum. I bought a membership to honor a dear friend who passed away last year. Since I have had many months to reflect on that membership I'd have to honestly say that I should've bought 20 Gold memberships here for folks that wanted them, rather than give a mindless corporation more money that it doesn't need.
I think I've answered this question in the two questions above.
