Hey Bill,

Congrats on being the C3OTW. |thumb| I can't imagine having an "old" car being that "new" (2,277 miles)...!!! I'd sure like to get a set of those wheels someday. I think they'd look pretty good on "The Toy".

Very sweet looking Pace Car. The mileage is amazing. You plan to drive it a little more often then the previous owner?

Thanks. The good thing about 78 pace cars is also a bad thing. There are more low mile pace cars around than for any other year.People bought them up and put them away as investments.Just this week on e-bay there is a 44 and a 77 mile pace for sale.A few weeks ago pro team corvette sold a 10mile 4speed pace.So what I am trying to say is I don't know how much I am going to drive my vette.I have only put 4mi on it so far.Part of the fun and I know it sounds dumb of having a 78 pace is having a low mile car.I wish I could afford 2 of them,1 to drive the other to sit.The car has no inspection sticker,I think I am gonna wait until jan. and get classic tags,I don't want to take the car through inspection. They don't treat cars to nicely going through inspection in NJ.Also the cops love to pull over cars with no inspection sticker and look for something else like no insurance etc. Then when they don't find something they get mad and give the 144$ failure to inspect ticket.Eventually I think I will drive around a thousand or so miles a year.I don't plan on ever selling my car-Bill |bouncy|

Your not kidding about the inspection. I hate getting my vette inspected in NJ. I hate waiting in a booth while they do it. My last trip which was two years ago erupted in a shouting match and rubber being left at the end of the inspection station. Some kid was telling me that my highbeams weren't working and I told them they worked fine, so he got insulted by that and tried to prove that I was an idiot, but I sat down and turned the highbeams right on... I told him he just wasn't clicking it back right, but he wouldn't listen to me. Then I got yelled at by the head guy because I got in the car when it was being inspected (eventhough the other guy told me to get in and do it), then the emissions guy failed me and said that I should get on it a little more before I came back so I said, "You want me to get on it? Ok, I can do that." I got in the car and spun some wheels leaving the end of the station... the screaching sound echoed nicely in the station. I never took it back. I just took it to the shop down the street and the guy did a private inspection on it. I'm not going to take it myself anymore... they fail me when I take it, but my sister took it before and passed easily.

Hiya Bill,
Nice ride! I am kinda curious. The posts tend to indicate you just purchased your car recently. I know a guy who just sold one in the past couple months. Since you are in N.J. and this guy is in PA, I was just wondering, ya know? I don't know if it was sold through his dealership or private. His initials are W.M.
It would be funny if it was his, well not funny , funny , just funny (?). I know it was a very low mileage car and I think it even still had the plastic on the seats.
Anyhow, whether it is or is not, I wish you a lot of luck with it.
