Vette(s): 1981, Black/Black, Engine bumped to about 400HP.Ext/int mostly stock.

Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong with my signature?  I have followed directions and it previews just fine with that feature, but it doesn't show up when I post.  Also, I do have the button checked to "include signature in all posts".  Here is what I entered in the signature window:

'81 Black on Black.  Best picture I could get on a gloomy winter day in Northern KY.

Thanks!

OK, here's how I did it:

First, you have to have the picture stored on a web server somewhere, so that the forum software can retrieve it from there and insert it into each of your posts.  I believe if you have greater than a standard membership on C3VR, you can create you own web pages here.  If not, there are sites on the web that will let you post pictures to share with others.  In my case, my Internet provider allows each subscriber to create their own little web site.  So, I copied the image file to my personal web site there, then recorded the exact URL at which that image file resided.

Then, in C3VR, to go "My Account", then "My Profile".  In the data entry box for "Forum Sugnature", type whatever you want to be in your signature.  Wherever you want to include the picture, click the "Image" button.  With the new software, it should insert "|IMG| |/IMG|" at the point in the text where you pressed the button.  In between these two HTML tags, insert the URL to your picture.  Mine looks like this:

Here's the pic |IMG|http://www.fuse.net.something/JohnsVette.jpg|/IMG|

Below the data entry area for the profile, check the box for "Include signature automatically.  Save your updates and you should be ready to go.

Directions posted for the old software said to test it you should reply to a post and then preview the post before saving.  After previewing, you could then back out of the post-reply without saving it, so that no one was bothered by your test.  However, the preview feature of the new software is not including my signature, so I was only aware it was working once I really did post something and then went back and looked at it.

Lastly, look at your first post after including a picture in your signature and ensure it's not too big.  If so, proper etiquette, particularly for those that have to view your posts over dial-up connections is to make the image smaller.

Hope this helps someone.

With the new forum-ware look for an icon near the top of the page labeled 'Settings'.  Click on it and then click on the 'Edit Forum Profile' link.  Look for the 'Signature' text box, that's where the new forum signature goes.

I think you must update your profile and all the other stuff on the new software in order to get the sig to show. No big deal, just takes a few minutes.

Jim is right.  the new forum is using the Signature found in the "Settings" which you can click on that button at the top of any forum page.  I will be removing the signature setting from the "Profile" page soon.  I want to give people some time to transfer their setting over.
