Hey gang.

I'm feeling a bit discouraged by the site's activity lately.

Even though the total number of members has been increasing, the activity has been declining slightly over the past few months.

I'm wondering what it is that C3VR is lacking...
Is it something that C3VR doesn't have that other corvette sites do?
Is there too many other Corvette sites out there, so people don't want to join another one?
Is something unappealing about the design?
Does something not work right?

I'm also feeling a bit overwhelmed by the amount of time and effort I have to put into the site to maintain and enhance it.

Also, with the new Newsletter due out in January, that is putting even more stress on me.

I thought I could pull this off as a one-man-operation, but I really think I need help!

I think I need a partner (or partners) to help take the C3VR into its 2nd year.

Is anyone out there interested in helping me?
To help administer the site, would require an hour or less per day of your time.
To help maintain and enhance the site, would require that you know HTML and ASP. And it would be great if you have graphic design experience.
I also need help selling advertising space to Vendors (as mentioned in another thread).

Please reply to this thread, or email me: adam@c3vr.com, if you are interested in becoming a partner.

Thanks!

Just speaking for myself, my internet time overall has decreased
quite a bit. Extra hours at work and my kids busy schedule has contributed to the lack of time I now have. At home I only have a dialup modem so response time is very poor. I'll sign on at work but time there is very limited. You've done a great job on this site and I always tell my friends about it. |thumb|

Adam, you have to remember something, look what time of year it is. Time for holiday get togethers (work parties, family, friends, etc). This is a tough time, with all that is going on, to be surfing all day long. maybe I'm lucky because I can surf at work |headscratch|
Just my opinion.

Adam,
Don't feel down. It is that time of the year. Many vette owners are in the process of putting their babies to bed for the winter. Also with the holidays and work loads being increased, many of us don't have the time to sit at the computer like before. Knowing from working for many years, this is the time of the year that I had to put in long hours for the end of the year production rush.
You are doing and have done a great job. So keep the chin up and wait til this time of year is over.
Wish I could help you out but I am computer stupid. Hope you get the good help you need.
Bev.

Hang in there. You are doing a great job.

I have found the C3 crowd to be quite unusual in many ways. First of all you have some owners that are very car proud that own some of the best pieces of Vette history ever put between four wheels. I am talking about the guys with number matching fully restored 68-72 big blocks and other rare LT1 style optioned cars as well as verts. Most of these cars are getting to be pretty high dollar these days and starting to nip at the values of some mid year models. These owners are somewhat engaged in the internet world, but many of them are more old money and don't spend much time on the net anyway.

There are the inbetween crowd guys. These guys picked up a 77 or a 79 as their first Vette for less than $5000. Many of them know little to nothing about cars and picked up the vette because it was a good deal. These guys are very involved but, they have a limitation. It cost just as much to paint, replace interior, tires, wheels, suspension, rebuild an engine, etc for a low hp 77 as it does a high output 71 big block. The difference is the 71 big block might be worth $25,000 and the 77 at best maybe $10,000 and each would cost $20,000 to restore. So, the inbetween guys want to get involved, but are hesitant to spend any real cash for obvious econmic reasons. However, we need these guys to keep the faith to help drive the values up.

Then there is the pristine guys that have the collectors editions, etc. that are in perfect show room shape. The cars are so nice that they don't get any miles on them, therefore they don't break which means they often have little to talk about or share with others.

Then there is the freako gear heads like me that spend their extra time trying to shove too big of an engine into too small of a car. We don't know where we belong , but we like to have fun.

Anyway, our C3 generation is very splintered and in many ways other than "restoration" parts, the aftermarket companies have left us in the dirt to chase the late model C4 and C5 guys.

We are blazing new trails, and thus struggling to figure out where we belong.

Give it more time, and things will begin to fall in to place.

I too spend so much time on the net on other sites, that it is often hard to keep up with what is going on. Everytime I check back you are doing bigger and better things.

Keep up the good work.

Adam, Your forum trys to appeal to ALL vette lovers don't get discourged, you have done a super job of setting things up
You most likely have the most complete forum on the net, |thumb|
I can't speak for everyone but can tell you why I'm not here too much,I love the customs,
( I'm building a mako 2 repli-car)
Most vette people these days trash the customs and the few posts I have made have gotten little or no replies at all, so that tells me people on your forum don't share my interests...
If I have learned anything since I got on the net tons of people put out lip service but when it comes to support they hide.

You also touched down on the fact there are many forums out there now some that may target peoples interests closer...

I spend time on a small forum where only 3 or 4 of us ever post so don't get discourged.

Best wishes and happy holidays,
Cheers, T. |cheers|

Thanks to those of you that replied so far!

I'm glad to know that you are enjoying the site.

What I'm feeling is probably best described as a personal problem... I tend to want everything to be a certain way, NOW. But the reality is, that it isn't very likely to be the way I want it, as fast as I want it.

So, if I can somehow get past that problem, I'd probably feel a lot better about the sucess of the site.

C3VR does now have around 1600 registered members, which is pretty great, but only 500-600 of those members actually stop by each month. I suppose as the number of total registered members increase, so will the number of memberse that use the site each month.

I'll be placing an ad in next month's NCM publication "America's Sports Car." Hopefully that will draw in some good new members! Keep your eye out for it.

Thanks again for all your support!! |cheers|

ADam...the site is GREAT!!!!!! I just wish I had MORE time for the puter but it is THAT time of year..I am overloaded at work..only have a couple of hours a day for myself...and I do my best to ''check in'' here even if it is at 4AM!!!!!!

I think once the holiday season is over and things calm down you will see an increase in site activity.

Even poor Rosie has taken a ''back seat'' right now cause things are just too hectic for me and Hubby!!!!

Chin up!!! Things are fine!!!!! |thumb|
