Vette(s): Used to own a 1979 Corvette now owned by JB79

I know that I and others have had trouble with getting bumped (logged off) the site while posting a message in the forum.  Everything would be fine... and when you go to Post the message you just spent 5 minutes typing... you are sent to the login screen, or returned to the forum but your post is gone.

It just occured to me that this has not happened to me in a very long time.  Possibly since the new forum software was installed.

So I am curious if anyone else has had this problem recently, or if like me, you haven't had a problem since the new software was installed.

Let me know.

Thanks!

Adam, I put a long post in yesterday. Even though I can touch type with out looking at the keys, it took a while. So, when I went to post it, I got the log in screen again. I though that the message would be lost. I logged in again, and luckly it was still there. I still can't send an IM or send in the chat room. But I guess that's a problem on my computer. Same with me.... I thought I lost one the other night, but it was there when I came back. Aggrevating, yes, but not as bad as spending 20 min. on a post and then losing it totaly! I guess the new set-up is working much better.

That's happened to me recently. I thought the site was reseting as 6 or 7 people could be on and when I relog on, it shows 0 to 2 or so. Looked like everyone was logged off, not just me due to a post..

Never has happened to me, but I have gotten in the habit of hitting the Preview Post button every few minutes to make sure it knows I am still here.

Vette(s): 1979, 350sb, as my kids affectionately call it "shit brown" Corvette purchased in 1996. 84,000+ miles. Not a show car, but I love her just the same.
Can't say I've ever had it happen, and I've posted some doozies on here at times.  Everyone says I tend to be a bit long winded when I write.  My suggestion to those who do experience it...write your thoughts in an alternate application (Notepad, Word, etc.) then when you're done just copy and paste the message into the forum and send it.  I guarantee you won't be "booted off".

I still have it happen.  Just today. 6-27-14.  But it has never been a problem.  I just get the screen to log in, and I do, and it completes the post.

If we know this is happening and its a problem, until its resolved if it were me after spending 5 mins on a post, I'd left click right after the last work typed, drag up highlighting all text, then right click on highlighted text and select copy. This takes about as long as it takes to click "save post" and will keep you from doing this

Does not happen to me since I started loggin in with the check box that says "save password" or "keep me logged in"; something like that.  When I am really done for the day, I come back and hit logout.
