Adam,
You used to have a very identifiable place on the home page for people to join the registry. Where did it go? I have had poeple in my club who want to join but are basically too computer illerate to figure out how to join. Used to be easy. Maybe you should put something back on the home page that kinda jumps out at you, you know like a big picture of Uncle Sam sitting in a Vette pointing at you saying "We want you " !

Glenn,

There already is a link to sign up on the home page. You and the other registered members don't see it because the page is dynamically built, and since you are already registered, there is no need to ask you to register.

If you want to see what I'm talking about, Logout, then go to the Home Page.

Thanks for the thought, though!

I can't stand it...you're just too good. Wanna do my keystone page? Now I have no idea why those bozos can not figure out how to join. I will harass them tomorrow night at the meeting.
Thanks,

At least you've got people in your club that want to join. My problem is that we've only got a handful of C3's, and the others just don't seem interested in joining this great place. I even did a write up in our newletter for God's sake! lol Oh well, it's definately their loss. Adam, thanks for a great place to hang out and sometimes even learn something! |bouncy|

Hey Darla...
Could you send me a copy of that newsletter with the write-up in it?

I'd like to post it under the Press section.

You can send it to:
C3 Vette Registry
PO BOX 202
Eagleville, PA 19408

Also, thanks for trying to round up new C3VR members!

Adam, no problem at all sending a copy of our newsletter to you. As a member of our board we are "requested" to do an article on something every month. Our newsletter not only goes out to our 40 members, but also to about 100 car clubs in this area, mostly Vette clubs. One guy in Red Line, Ira, takes care of the C5 clan, and I do all the other years. Tips, tricks, websites, anything that might be of use. I'll go out and make a copy as soon as I can. I may do that tonight since I've got a board meeting and I could stop by Kinko's on the way home. If I remember to stop! |toungecool|

Darla,
I think I would rather be "requested" to do an article than be 1. told I was vice president ( like it or not ) and 2. that as vice president I was also responsible for the yearly car show. Of course I mentioned that the club's by-laws don't allow that. That was when the fun really started
|smile| . Anyhow, I am vice president, chairperson for the show and web master. But ya know what I really like?.....even as I write this, my contractor is in my back yard building my garage :-) My red money pit will now have a place to call it's own. Well, it will have to share some space with the other cars but it is better and more than it had last week |smile|

Glenn, they all wanted me to be VP, but as I've only been in the club a few years, I thought being Secretary might be a good way for me to learn what every person does on the board and that will help me learn people names for one thing. We've got so many "newer" members, that sometimes I have to ask a few others, "say, who's that with the blah blah Vette?" and then I hope that someone knows! lol We had to skip our car show last year because no one, and I mean not one single person wanted to do it. But this year ought to be really big!

What kind of garage? How big? Wait....share the space with your other cars? You're going to allow that? |smile|

Webmaster? For your club? Thanks....I feel like crap right now. I've been so tied up with trying to get Destiny painted complete, that I completely forgot about setting up the clubs forum so we've got a place to chat among ourselves. Ooops. Gotta explain that tonight dang it...... |eek|

Hiya Darla,
Well, I guess I have to quality some of my statements. I am vice president of my club. I refused it but was told I was it anyhow. The grounds for refusal were that i had only been in the club for a year and did not know anyone or anything about the club. Did not seem to matter. Also used the same reasons for not doing the show. That did not matter either ! Well, the hell with it, I'm gonna try to do the best show they have had in years ! I do the web page because they really needed some exposure. next time I will just pull off someone's pants it will be much less time consuming. Not to mention that when work found out about it, I inherited the web site here. Now if I had Adam's experiance and knowhow with web pages, I could actually do a good job on my sites !!!
Good luck with you club.. When they jam something down your throat, just chew it up, swallow it, digest it and then give it back...with a smile of course ! |smile|

Hey Glenn, got a message on my machine last night....Ira who's Mr. Mod Man and our VP, wants me to go ahead and set up a forum for our club over on LS1.com for 5 bucks a month. I sure hope that they make it super easy to set up because I have little web page experience and don't know nothin' 'bout code. I'll let you know if I can how I do! |eek|
