If my club ever asks me to set up a forum the following will happen...first I will ask Adam to do it. Second it will be the easiest money he has ever made cause no one in my club (with a possible 3 exceptions) are computer savy enough to use it. They can not even figure out how to join C3VR and it is big and bold as day right on the home page !

That's funny that you mention that about the people in your club, because I've got the same thing in mine! Shoot...our newsletter dude frank who I love to death, doesn't have email! Can you believe that? Now we have to print out everything every month for him. lol So, at my board meeting, talking about the forum thing, one guy says....well, it'll be nice for those who know how to use a computer. What do I need to do now, hold computer classes for these people or just hold their hand? Turn it on, and start for heaven's sake! Ask a few ?'s, play around with it. Man, it's not that hard. Little kids do it. I don't know why they can't. No one taught me, I just played around till I learned what NOT to do. lol

Darla,
Go look at my site. No critisims please. http://keystonestatecorvetteclub.com. I have a page with pics of members and thier cars. If you have your computer set up like the home page says, the site works fine. The members say the names are not under the right cars. Tell me what you think...do names line up under pics? The site has cost them nothing and all they do is complain about it.

I checked the website(I miss my car) and it showed two columns of cars with two columns of names, and they lined up properly, but i dunno if the people are with the cars they own |confusing| but if Bernadette owns a Blue C4 then they seem to be close =)

Glenn, your site looks nice. I went into every section and it's working fine. I don't know what they're complaining about. Is it that when they view the pages things don't line up? If that's the case, then they probably have their browser set wrong. That's such a common thing as you know. When I do this forum thing for my club, they'd better not say a word!

I appreciate both of you taking a look at my site and letting me know it seems to work. Yes Bernadette has a Blue '89. The only part that does not work quite right is if you are looking at the pics of the cars, the back button does not work right. You have to use the back button on the browser. I plan on re-doing the menuing one of these fine days and using a few little neat things like rollovers and drop down menus. But the garage and my wife must come first.

All car clubs seem to suffer with the "get the newbie to be an officer, we did our time" syndrome. In the 2nd thru 4th years I was in a street rod club, I was Secretary/Treasurer, VP and President. Then we got enough new people I didn't have to any more. I was also the "official" car show photographer, sending a report on our annual show to the various street rod magazines. And every club, including anything related to school, church or civic groups leave the work to the same few people every year. That's why in one year I was president of three different organizations! Now I don't belong to any clubs. Joe

Ok, here is a new idea for a club. No one HAS to do anything. If you want to have a show, then go out and do it ( after all it WAS your idea wasn't it? ). If you want to organize a funkahana go ahead, knock your self out. If you want to be president, run for the office, after all it is supposed to be an elected position. HEY, damn, it almost sounds like the C3VR, the people who actually have time to help and want to help, DO. What a nice place to be. I'm glad I joined and if I had more time, I would do more to help out.
Thanks Adam ! Here's to ya |cheers|

Hey Glenn, you seem to be a big factor in the sucess of C3VR. I wish I had time available that you do. We are lucky to have such a great site to play on and such great people like you who help us out. |cheers|

Rick,
I don't consider myself to be any factor at all in whether this site is a success or not. I am just one of the people out here trying to have fun and hopefully learn something at the same time. This site's success is strictly Adam. He spends more time than you can imagine not only making the site work but going out to different places for sponsorship and spreading his time even thinner by attending meetings and get-togethers that other clubs have just to spread the word. I really don't have a lot of time available. I am a computer specialist at work and I get a lot of net time because I have my machine doing background work while I am here playing. I know that I for one appreciate those on the forum that have volunteered their time to help Adam and I also appreciate all that he has done to make this Registry happen.
|cheers|
