I have not been able to reply back to anyones PM with out the error message. I then have to copy open compose new message and paste for it to work. By that time I'm sounding like a Trooper........stressed out......I nolike stressout Thumbs Down

Here's the thing... I can't get the error to occur, so it makes it really hard to figure out what the problem is and therefore be able to fix it.

I'll have to change the way it sends PMs. I'll do it as soon as I can.

Thanks.

Albo(and others)....are you ONLY having issues when REPLYING to P/Ms, or also when doing a NEW P/M?
I haven't had any issues with either, on any of the Registry sites. I do know that sometimes, the member's NAME will cause an error to occur....I've had that happen MANY time due to the apostrophe in my user name, as well as some others. I normally just type in the name myself, if there is a weird name, instead of hitting reply and hoping it works.
I also know that when Adam first got the P/Ms back up and running, I kept seeing an error message, but it WAS sending the message...but I'm on dial-up at home, so my screen doesn't always show things that have already happened...."That's SO 28 seconds ago....".LOL

Don't know if any of this helps, but it is just my observation....

Is this the message ya'll are seeing? OR you seeing something else?

No only when I go to reply to any message.
I like the auto search when composing a new message, that works great.

ebo, One of the differences between an error during pm creation vs post creation is that if you get an error posting a pm you can click the link to "try again." When you click that link, the pm you just created will reappear. At that point you should highlight the text (click inside the message box and press Ctrl-A) and copy it to the clipboard Ctrl-C). Then refresh the page (F5). Then click inside the message box and paste (Ctrl-V) the post back in and click the Send button. That should work and keep you from having to retype the pm again.

This happened to me today, for the first time. It simply had a red "ERROR" with no explanation. I had to do it 3 times before it finally went thru. I did not type out a new message, or copy/paste...just kept clicking on the "Try again" button.

It has happened to me too.  I know this isn't a fix, but it is a workaround that has always worked for me:
  • If you get an error posting a pm you can click the link below the error to "try again," the pm you just created will reappear.
  • Highlight the text you entered (click inside the message box and press Ctrl-A)
  • Copy it to the clipboard (Ctrl-C).
  • Refresh the page (F5).
  • Click inside the message box and paste (Ctrl-V) the post back in and
  • Click the Send button.
That should work and keep you from having to retype the pm again.

It looks like a lot of steps, but it isn't. I'm just trying to be very detailed so everyone understands how to do it.

Thanks.

Oh, also, I've noticed if you're doing a reply and your reply plus the original text (or thread) is too long, it will error no matter what.  So if you can't seem to make the error go away, remove all the text expect your reply, then try again.
I'll fix it as soon as I can.
Thanks.
