This may sound dumb but i just can't figure our your search engine algorithm. I put in very common terms and it returns no topics. I guess I am am not holding my mouth right when I hit search. I have read and followed the instructions and still no luck. Then I find the very subject in one of the forums by paging through which is interesting but very time consuming. Any hints on what i can do.

Can you give some examples of your "common terms"? I just put in a few ("quadrajet" & "alternator") and got the expected number of returns. Are you remembering to change the return period? Unless I'm looking for something specific that I know is recent, I usually change to "All Time" - the default of 30 days seldom returns many threads for most generic searches.

Are you following these rules for the search criteria?

Single words are acceptable
- Example: brakes
Single words must NOT be simple words such as 'the', 'be', 'a', etc.
Multiple word searches must be enclosed in double quotes (") or separated by keywords (AND, OR, NOT, NEAR)
- Example 1: "brake pads"
- Example 2: "brakes" OR "pads"
- Example 3: "brake pads" OR "brake shoes"
