Ok. I just rebooted the server.
Let's see if that helps.

I really have no idea what's going on, or how to fix it.

I'm just trying things right now to see if it helps.

Test post...
I logged in to make this post, when I clicked on the "Reply" box, it logged me out. When I logged back IN, it took me to the reply box...like I never even logged out.

btw..I have the same issue with the C4VR site, too, but ONLY here at work....I STILL think this is gunna be a browser issue...

AND the C6VR..BUT...NO issues on the C7VR site...it has different software tho, right?

For you guys that are having a problem,
When you log into the site, do you check the box to "Save Login on My Computer" on the login page or not?

Adams' Apple said: Here I am at "work" now, and I had to log in twice. Once when I first clicked on the site, then I came to this thread, and I was no longer logged in. But...I have said, this is ONLY a problem for me at werk, on the work 'puter. I'm thinking this is a browser issue, as far as MY issue.
I did just update the FF browser here, and it made no difference....it's just the way the boss has this 'puter set. Once again, I NEVER have to re-log in at home...just here at werk...

Otay...THIS post posted, but when the page came back up with my new post, I was logged out again, even tho my post posted...if that helps.

That's Egg Zackly my problem. Three times I had to relog in to post this.

Adam, for ME, I have NOT been doing that here at work. I don't want anyone else to have access. However...I just did do that for this session. We'll see if that makes a difference.
On my home 'puter, YES...that box has been clicked since day one.

bytw...When I logged in just now, It showed me logged in, and went to the 24 hr Tech only page. I clicked on the regular "24 hr active thread list" under the forums drop down, came to this page...and was logged out. When I logged back in, I clicked the "Save my stuff on my 'puter" box....let's see if it worked.

As a side note, I logged into the C7VR site this morning, and made a post there....two hours ago. I just went back to that site, and I was STILL logged in. I made an edit to my post there, had NO problems, and did not have to log back in there.

Ok, here is another couple of problems I have run into, when I clicked on post a reply to this thread it sent me to a login page when I was already loged in. The other issue is trying to read some posts on here, like (water temp) and needing a screen 14ft long to read the post?

I'm using a military system w/ IE and windows 7 enterprise dont know which version of IE.

Just to let y'all know, I'm not having any issues on my iPad 2 iOS 5 with Safari or on my home computer, Windows 7 Pro with IE 9 or Firefox. Only issue I see is somewhat of a slow page load time on all my devices. Not terribly slow, but enough to notice.

Fred, the pages where the text is spread across half of Texas is due to folks inserting images that are TOO LARGE. I try to catch them, but sometimes it takes a while to get them taken care of. That is NOT a site issue...it's a user issue.

On to login issues...Adam, I clicked the "Save my info on my 'puter" box earlier today...around 10am or so(?)...I have NOT had to re-log on since then...and this puter has been idle since 12pm. Clap It has kept me logged in, even tho I have NOT even been on the puter since lunchtime.
So, that solve MY log-in issues.

Technically, you're not really "logged in" for that many hours in a row if you haven't been active.  What checking that box does is that when you browse to any page on the site, after having NOT been on any page of the site for a very long time (like over 90 minutes), it will automatically log you in, but you won't see the login page. So you appear to still be logged in, when in reality, you were not.

This may not fix the problems you've been having getting around, but it might.

If you still get the thing where you click a link to a thread or forum and it takes you to the home page, you may still appear to be logged in, but will have wound up in the wrong place.

If the problem still happens when you are trying to submit a post, it may lose your post, but you may still appear to be logged in, and could be returned to the entry form, or somewhere else.

You just have to keep me posted on it.

Like a mechanic diagnosing a car problem, if it doesn't happen for me and doesn't happen consistently it's very hard to figure out!
