Vette(s): 1977 T-Top Coupe, Black with Buckskin Interior. Restored.
I am replacing the inside rear view mirror. Can anyone tell me how to get the piece that
is glued on to the windshield off. I need to replace it, also, and a new one came with the
mirror.

I'm sure you've already considered the obvious, unless you want to change the location slightly, you'll never see the old / new one after the mirror is on. I did raise mine up slightly, and then it fell off, and again. 3 tries to get it stuck good again Unhappy, but, no big deal.

I replaced my inside mirror with a custom engraved chrome mirror.  The new one came with the piece that attches to the wind shield, BUT I used the original one.  I had to turn the piece that came with the mirror upside down, but no one can see that. I have had to glue those mounting pieces back on the wind shield and it is not too hard to do...BUT you have to follow directions exactly.  I agree...leave the old one in place.  I did know a person that tried to remove that piece with a pair of pliers....it came off, along with the same size piece of wind shield...aaaarrrrggggghhhhhCensored
