Vette(s): 1982 Corvette (not collector). Light Blue on dark blue. in intial stages of being fully modified along with all original parts fully restored and stored. 100% stock now
I'm having a heck of a time finding a engine rebuild kit for my 82 L83. I'm trying to find out some pricing for rebuilding it myself as i have all the tools and lifts. I've never rebuild a 350...some a 327 and 390 with help a fews years back. I'm trying to see how much i'll save if i rebuild my motor as oppossed to going with a new hypo crate motor...I'm still doing the research as to keep it stock or go resto mod...Any help with engine rebuild kits for the stock L83 would be fantastic!
Thanks Ryan

Other than the intake, the shortblock(mechanically) is pretty much the same as any other 350 small block.

I agree with Adam. Unless you need a new cam, just buy a 350 rebuild kit. And if you need a cam, too, it should be easy to get the specs and either find one very close or have one custom ground.
We have a local shop, Wagamon Engine Rebuilding http://www.wagamonbrothers.com/ (763-789-7227). They sell the same type of kit as Northern, and are usually a little cheaper, and they can be pretty flexible in the combination of parts, cam, etc.
I have been getting all my parts and machine work there for over forty years.

Thanks Guys...sorry for the confusion...yes i'am just doing a 350 rebuild and looking to see if i need a need cam. The motor is having many issues from compresion and literally throwing oil into my air filters, along with losing 3-4 quarts of oil in about 400 miles. I've also had problem with serious overheating and blowing off coolant hoses. The motor has never been rebuilt and it has 106k miles so its time anyways. I should have asked more about what is a good idea to replace with the crossfire injection system while i'm rebuilding the engine.
Thanks for the responses and sorry for the confusion.
