I was given a set of side pipes that came off a Vette, what year, unknown. They're in great shape and I'd like to install them on my 77. I think this should be a straight bolt-on installation, or am I missing something? thanks in advance for your help.

Hey Pete, welcome aboard! 
What kind of pipes are they??  If they are the 69 original style with insulated covers, they should bolt right up with a little trimming of the lower rocker panel.  There is a hardware kit with a rubber bushing to reduce vibration.  Make sure the insulators are there so ya don't burn the "side pipe tatoo" on your lower leg.
As you can see from my sig pic, I've had them on my 72 for many years and like them a lot.

If they are the header type that the pipes run into a 4 inch drain tube that run along the rocker panel.............I can't help you.  Sorry.

If there a Hooker's and they came off a vett 68-82 they will work.  I just took a set off my 72, wife burnt her lag more that once. You might have to trim the rocker panel where they come out the side and at the mouting bolts. Also if you have a/c you will have to change the  compusser mounting bracket. If Manual transmission you will have to remove the cross tube to get the left hand header on, it will go back on. If you need some picture of how they look I have them. If any one is looking for a set of Hooker side pipes W/mounting bushing I have a set to sell $200.00 + shipping. In fair condision.

The side pipes I took off are hookers. I have headers w/ bolts, side pipes w/ muffler inserts, and frame mounting bolts and bushings. I also have a set of home made muffler inserts good sounding. will try to send pictures.

Have not had the opportunity to work on the car with the weather here in New York. I'll probably wait till the weather gets a little warmer, although my son has a shop where he works on Mustangs with a lift, he's been pretty busy so lift time for Pop is limited. Thanks for the offer though. If I have any problems, I'll keep you in mind.

Pete.....The aluminum rocker panels do have to be removed as the insulated covers bolt or screw into the same holes.  What may need to be trimmed is the lower part of the fender to let the pipe come through as high as possible.  Once the covers are on, you'll never see it.  HTH.
