The Van Nuys Cruising Association announced Friday that after a 25 year absence, cruising will return to Van Nuys Blvd on Wednesday, June 10th at 8pm. They ask that there are no burn-outs, light to light runs, open headers, drugs or alcohol, etc. Please keep it cool and do not engage in any illegal activities.

Too cool Reid ! and I was just wondering why there is nothing going on in the southwest region. One of these days maybe somethin' will happen in the 'Frisco area. Sure is quite around here

Imagine if you will, a cruise route 5 miles long, 3 lanes wide each direction with bumper to bumper traffic of nothing but Corvettes, hot rods, muscle cars, vans, trucks, & VW's. That's what is was in the 60's and 70's before the AUTHORITIES shut it down in the early 80's.. It was a ritual growing up in the San Fernando Valley...Corvette Summer was filmed there, Hollywood Knights too...Hot Rod magazine Car Craft and others were always there..

Now everyone is much older and there are young people who've heard the stories and want to experience what once was...The mystique of The Boulevard....
Should be interesting....So far the response on some other board has been astounding....

Very cool! In the early 80's I cruised Whittier Blvd. in Whittier, CA and at that time I had a '73 340 Duster. Good Times!

Original 79,000 mi.
I will be there. I used to cruise 4th street in San Rafael in the mid '70's and then Van Nuys in 1980 when I moved down to LA. Had a '69 Chevelle. Too much fun and so many great memories. I will look for you Reid in that '72 beauty. Reid, do you ever make it out to Super Car Sunday in Calabasas (Valley Circle and the 101) in the Von's Mall P-lot? Not many C3's there, but lots of great cars and great C1's and C2's. It's the last Sunday of every month.
Best to the board.

I have never been to the Sunday show in Calabasas, but one of my club members goes out there with his 69 Shelby GT500....Maybe you've seen it? Red w/white interior....Beautiful car...

Vette(s): 1982 C3 Collectors Edition 44000 miles, sat in the sun most of its life, My wife purchased it for me for Father's Day in 2007 from her girlfriend that had it for 19 years. It is on the road again. I'm retired but it is now my daily driver.
La Mesa Ca (San Diego area) Every Thursday night 6 to 9 they park hot cars (mostly custom rods) along the street and you can walk, eat and talk while looking at all of the rods. It goes on through out the summer so I do not think it has started yet but will soon. If you have a vacation in San Diego make sure you include a Thursday night in La Mesa. It is run by the Over The Hill Gang. You want to see some of the cars look at the web site. I know they are not Vetts but when mine is running I will bring it down to the Thursday gathering.
If anyone wants to find out when it starts

[QUOTE=KDADDY79]Hey Reid,
That sounds like it'll be great!
The photo made me think of the movie "American Graffiti".
Keep us posted on this.
