Sending back my full interior carpet package today.  Got it from ACC but no where close to original.  Carpet is not far off but the vinyl they used for edging is off color (when compared to rear compartment speaker cover which have not faded from sunlight).  Also the driver foot area if BROWN instead of the original Slate Gray.  ACC says this is what they have always had but I showed them pics.  Frustrating part of this, is no one shows a picture of the 82CE carpet when you order - all you get is a generic picture with a dropdown for color selection (and a special upcharge for the 82CE color).

Seems all the big corvette aftermarket houses order from ACC.  Also contacted Al Knoch and their sales rep confirmed they use the Slate Gray.... however, they are out of stock of the 82CE and due to limited sales (about 1 per year) they have no idea when they would place an order from the carpet mills.

Anyone know of any other manufacturer/supplier that adheres to NCRS and Bloomington standards?

This is my original carpet:

This is what ACC says is what they have always sold for 82CE:

Check out Bairs Corvettes website. They show a Code 60 for 82 CE that appears to be same color as your original. Good luck!

Thanks.  I called Bair's and unfortunately they also drop ship from ACC.  The fella I talked with confirmed there are only the two big names who make carpets - ACC and Al Knoch.

He did mention a small company in Michigan but could not recall the name, so I will continue searching.

For those of you still with original carpet, IS your heal pad "slate grey"?  or brown?

For all you owners of an 82CE, if you still have original carpet, what color is your driver side vinyl heal pad (maybe post a pic)?  Silver/Grey like mine or the Brown/Tan which seems to be the only replacement.

Just curious if the original factory was Silver/Grey or if mine is somehow unique.

Thanks

Kerry, did you try Mid America? They make carpet/interior trim also.

I did try them.  Seems everyone sources their carpet from ACC.  I did call "Al Knoch Interiors" who source their carpet directly from the carpet mills, however they were out of stock of the 82CE carpet and did not know when they would ever restock due to low demand.  They did state when they had it in stock, they used the "Grey" not "Brown" for the heal pad.

If anyone reads this and is an NCRS or Bloomington judge, could you let me know the correct color.

I was an ACC dealer at one point, years ago. I do still have the color samples I could dig out and look at...if I can remember where the books are. I will tell you this...that brown heel pad would definitely warrant a deduction due to the improper stitching, and stitching location. Also appears that the  surface is more smooth on your original, compared to the pebble grain of the brown pad....of course, your original may just be that worn? I think the original should be a silver/grey color, as far as the heel pad....and carpet too. You should be able to look at the carpet under the seat and see the original, un-faded color.

The ACC carpet itself is a close color match to original, I just don't know why they changed out the heal pad color.  I had to replace the rear storage compartment doors and the carpet on those was very close to the un-faded carpet behind the rear speakers.  ACC told me it was always this "Tan" color, but I don't believe them, think they are just trying to make a sale.

If your samples have the heal pad color, it would be interesting to know if it was gray or tan.

Thanks
