This Pace Car is up on ebay and described as "Design Series"  It appears that the L-82 valve covers have 9 fins as compared to the "usual" 7. Anyone know what the Design Series is about and why the xtra fins?

Joe, I think the guy either doesn't know what he's talking about or is just feeding everyone a line of crap.
"Design Series" ?? #44 of 50?? Never heard of it or seen anything like it in print offered as an option.
Original tires- BF Goodrich- ????
Never seen those 9 fin valve covers before or offered as an option or some kind of package.
Other things under the hood don't look right either. The right side of the dual intake on '78 L82's don't look like it comes backs to connect with the plastic intake on top of the radiator.
The so called "Rally Package" is another one I have seen no documentation for.
Lots of sellers on Ebay just hope for the stupid one to get all caught up in the sale. Looks nice but be truthful about what you're selling.

"Duel Tank drained and cleaned"
"THE ENGINE WAS TUNED AND SCANNED"

Whuuuut? The guy is a Goober. He either don't know squat, or he's simply repeating what someone told him when he overpaid for it. Either way, the description is just a bunch of crap. Nice car, don't get me wrong, but....he's trying to suggest it is something that it is not. Perhaps it originally belonged to some kind of designer, and they had is modified with the neat-o valve covers and stuff...who knows?
It's priced about right as it is....

But didn't the L82 have the dual snorkel air cleaner? The L48 had the single.
