Vette(s): 1978 INDY PACE CAR #3016 of #6502 built. Has original Pace car decals still in GM boxes the way it was delivered to GM dealers. per NCRS "UPDATE" Decals applied as of 3/8/02 (ALL ORIGINAL)
Hi P.
Here is a older picture of the vette showing the hood decal from a recent car show. It shows some detail. The decal colors are as follows, the background is silver with a red pin stripe around the outer edges of the decal that goes around the entire decal.

You did not say how you were going to put your stripes back on to your car, either air brushing them or using new replacement decals. We are going to be out of town this weekend and will not be able to be on the computer, but if you will post back and tell me wha t your plans are, I will try to help you all I can in finding retailers that sale decals seperately.

Thanks Doug
It's just as I thought- The Red pinstripe sits in such a way that there is an edge of silver showing. Without knowing the exact dimensions of the Decal and where it is set on the hood it would be better to get repro decals that to try and have them air brushed on. Any further info is always appreciated. Cheers

P,
If you want to try the repo decals http://www.stencilsandstripes.com/pr_indy.asp has them . they sale them seperate also. I think the hood decal goes for about $125.00. If you are looking to buy a whole decal kit another good place to buy a kit would be at http://www.phoenixgraphix.com/gm/1978pcv.htm.
There are several other retailers such as Mid America, Ecklers, Zip Products that will sale you decal kits also. Just make sure that your backing and glue is of a fairly repricable business such as 3M.
