Javelins were Cool

Whatever GM offered in a performance engine the Javelin would have it also. GM supplied American Moters with their V8's........i thinks .

As I remember, AMC used the 345 and the 390 that were both out of...you ready? An International.
Remember them?

SOLD - "Betty" - '28 Ford Model A Tudor

My brother-in-law's '70 AMX has a built 390 in it that's pushin' out around 600HP.

A lot of folks don't remember that Roger Penske built/Mark Donahue driven Javelins did quite well on the racing circuit in the early '70s.

Vette(s): 1978 L48, p/s, p/w/ factory ac car factory manual trans has a 350 crate engine w/260hp, but also have original which may be rebuilt- we also have a 76 w/ a 454, and 74 350 in various stages of being rebuilt, plus an 86 and an 02....
see.....even Javalins are loved .... (-:.... But I do have to admit- after driving the new vette.... well- the Javy can wait.  I'm spoiled now.  I like the crate motor- ups the hp just enough to make it really fun, and for a 30 year old car, the thing handles unbelievably well!!!!  I am seriously impressed.  Has a few bugs to work out- hopefully minor.  Needs a turn signal rewired, e brake tightened, and possibly trany work- maybe sequencer, but once thats done, I'm good to go....  Oh- and I think I lucked out- turns out it is a manual anniversery edition- apparently pretty darn rare.  Any info on that anyone?

Don't remember seeing what year it was. Manuals seem less available. Love manual transmixers. We'll all hope you still have a little adjustment left on the E brake. They're not a C3 strong point Wink.

Hi bgilt!  Good to hear you love your new Vette!

And why not a Javelin?  I love 'em.  They aren't a dime a dozen like Camaros, Chevelles, and......dare I say it.....Mustangs!  ;-)  My other car is a slightly modified 1972 Monte Carlo.  They are becoming more popular though, so maybe time to get something else.  Maybe a Henry J?  lol

As the president of our local car club (Outlaw Car Club), I see a great mix of wonderful muscle cars and great cruising machines.  One member has a silver 68 Javelin SST, 390/auto that is in pristine condition.  Another has a 72 Monte that is restored to factory original conditon.  Then there is another with a 70 Camaro that is street legal and runs in the low 9's.  Our club has it all, Chevrolets, Pontiacs, Buicks, Fords, Mercurys, Dodges, Plymouths, AMC, and Studebaker.  My wife absolutely loves her 69 Camaro SS 4 speed car and wouldn't trade it for anything.  Welcome to a forum that will help with any of your questions.
