Vette(s): 1978 L48, p/s, p/w/ factory ac car factory manual trans has a 350 crate engine w/260hp, but also have original which may be rebuilt- we also have a 76 w/ a 454, and 74 350 in various stages of being rebuilt, plus an 86 and an 02....
Ms.Mick- I agree completely- thats why I like 'em- they are still uncommon and all to often forgotten- ace- the car is a 78..... and in the shop now.....ergh. Had to get the minors fixed to pass inspection so I can get it registered and taged here. Stupid question for you all- is it a seqencer or synchronizer that controls gear ratio/etc in a manual? Thanks in advance to anyone who knows.....Adams' Apple 2007-12-10 20:04:24

Hi becca, each gear has a "synchro" to permit its meshing when shifted, without grinding....

Bry- I'm afraid I agree. It'll be nice when it stops raining around here so I can actually take some pics to post.... grrrr....plus its no fun to drive in the rain- have to fix the driver seat track- don't laugh- but I had to put a pillow behind me so I can reach the clutch till the seat moves, and its not too safe since I got the timing adjusted, the car has more power and breaks loose on wet roads.... now I just need to buy tailight lense covers so I can get those replaced and pass inspection. Its getting there, oh, yeah, and the tranny issue.... It'll be nice when all is as it should be. At least all the parts are there, unlike the 74 and 76 which are stripped, and almost sanded getting ready for their paint. I'm just thrilled this one is drivable, and its engine isn't wrapped in plastic in the garage....Adams' Apple 2007-12-10 20:04:51
Well - just got the car home- about 1:30 this morning- after driving from near Dallas to South Carolina..... quite the trip.
Near Dallas? Where?? Did you buy a '78 Pace Car? The reason I'm asking is that I talked to a guy that had a '78 Pace car for sale in the Dallas Area...........I was wondering if it was the same one I was lookin' at.
Thanks!

Oh- no- bought the car in South Carolina- drove back near Dallas. I looked in this area, but any decent deals I found were gone before I got there- literally had 2 sold when I was on my way to see them....Adams' Apple 2007-12-10 20:05:23

THank you both- for everyone's laugh for the day now- I bought the vette..... so I would have a really good reason to take a break from being mom once in a while- I'd love to get together, but have to get all 8- yes 8 kids.....a babysitter....or 3. I'll give notice when it might happen- and anyone nearby- I'm near Rockwall- about 20 minutes from Dallas- we'll have to meet up somewhere for a fun drive and maybe dinner- and I hope no one minds answering all my questions (-:Adams' Apple 2007-12-10 20:06:55
Did I read that right? 8 kids?
How do you do it???? I have two and I'm exhausted....and they're pretty much self-sufficient. Babysitters...oh my God!!! You definitely deserve a Vette...or two or three....
