I am lauren. I have had my 1979 vette for almost a year. I have been doing a lot of stuff to it lately since it has been nice. I am still new to the vette world and I don't know anybody. I want to start going to events and stuff but am scared because I don't know anybody. If anybody wants to let me know how to get involved in stuff let me know. I would really appreciate it. |wavey|

Hi Lauren, and a big welcome to you!

I think We all started out being a bit scared. I know I did. The best thing I ever did was join a good club. When I joined Red Line 5 years ago, there were 25 members, and like 10 or 12 of those started the club in 1990. I didn't know anyone and I went alone. (i also went to simi valley and ventura, but red line was far better) That kinda sucked, but now there's like 80 members and 43 Vettes. I've made great friends and enjoy all the runs, parties and events. My 3rd year I got nominated for secretary and have had that job since. lol And this year, I'm also half our social team, so I'm totally involved! And I really, really love it! So my advice is obvious... join a vette club! Go on the runs, go to the car shows and cruise ins too. Learn as much as you can and don't ever let a the guys around you get to you! Cuz they will, they always have to make some dumb comment. lol I don't think they can help it. lol I tend to make sure that I know more about C3's then them! lol Have fun with your vette!

Tell us more about you and post pics of your ride when you can too! Hubby, kids, your job, etc.

Nice to "meet" you, and you'll get to love this forum as much as the rest of us do!

Thanks everyone for making me feel welcome. I am looking to join a club in my area and hopefully I won't be scared anymore about going to events. I have already learned so much about c3s. If I get my vettes brakes fixed buy september (which I probably will) I will definetly consider going to the meeting in hershey. I love my vette and can't wait to make friends and have fun with my new hobby.

As far as who I am, I am 24, I work for First Data doing data entry. I have no kids and I am not married. I love cars and trucks. I love customizing them to make them different from everyone else. I like to be unique.

I don't know how to post a picture or I would.

Thanks again for welcoming me. |smile|

Hey Deb, how 'bout some pic posting help for Lauren here? I'd do it, but I don't think you want me too since I ALWAYS have trouble posting pics. lol

Lauren, what other rides do you have, or have had in the past? Would like hearing about them. Nice to "meet" you! :)

If you become a Gold or Lifetime Member, you can follow these instructions:

#1...pick a picture you like an upload it into "My Personal File Folder". The link is under the "My Account" menu. Note the HTTP address of the file you just uploaded as you'll need it in the next step. IMPORTANT NOTE: The HTTP address has underscores in it: _ not spaces. The address will look like this: http://www.C3VR.com/member_uploads/1_100/1/pic.jpg

#2...add the image to your message. While entering a forum message, click the "IMAGE" button. This will insert the image tags, they will look like this:
!IMG! !/IMG!
Except the ! will be |
Then, you want to put the HTTP address in between the tags, like this:
!IMG!http://www.C3VR.com/member_uploads/1_100/1/pic.jpg!/IMG!
Then, when you post your message, the image will display inside the message.

If you don't become a Gold or Lifetime member, you can find some other place on the internet to host your image, then just use that HTTP address instead, like this:
!IMG!http://www.picturehost.com/images/1/pic.jpg!/IMG!
