Anyone know where I can find radiator cowling for a '73 big block, used preferred... also smog pump and orig. smog type headers for the same.

I have the cowling that came off my 72. My car was an auto trans and 350 engine. Not sure if that would work but if your interested let me know. I can take pics if you need them. I am located at 17356 zip.

Vette(s): 1982 C3 Collectors Edition 44000 miles, sat in the sun most of its life, My wife purchased it for me for Father's Day in 2007 from her girlfriend that had it for 19 years. It is on the road again. I'm retired but it is now my daily driver.
I will check but I also wonder what you mean by cowling. I assume you mean the item that is on the back of the radiator and comes out around the fan. It sounds like you want to put back the smog stuff that was taken off? Is that what you are looking at?
Gary did you get my PM? my PMs always so not sent but are in my out basket when I look.

Sorry about the terminology... should have said Radiator shroud... I will have to look at the Assembly manual...
Looking at Zips Catalog... :
69-73E 427/454 equipped Corvettes. Original GM # 3956119
73L-75 350 & 454 all , original, GM # 339175. I'm not sure what 73 L is.
There seem to be a couple applications, depending on how it mounts on top and if it had the extension on top (i assume for A/C car)... I have the original but the PO cut the bottom in half and %$#@ up the rest of it trying to get it off... I know they are a pain to get off but give me a break...
Rodney.. if you have a pic.. I can probably compare it to the one I have... I will post picture of what i have now.
We are trying to put the car back to original as possible...
Thanks again...

73E and 73L just means "early" or "late." If you have an assembly manual, there is usually a drawing change noted on the late cars of that year. I'm not sure of any way to tell by the VIN or build date what constitutes an early or late car...
Noticed the USN tag. What ship were you on during Tet? CVN-65, by any chance?

Yes I was, but later. My first tour on her was 1988-1991, and then again 2001-2002. I just went to Norfolk for the decommissioning in December. Got a chance to spend some time with a fella that was on board for the fire; I took him to the forecastle and showed him the plaque that's there and lists the names of the fallen. Very moving moment for him, and me.
Thanks for your service. Those were not easy times to be in the service.

Kind of like visiting the Wall in DC... I lost several HS Buddies over there.... wasn't much glory coming home back in '70 but at least we made it back.. I do have a lot of good memories of the times with fellow white hats.
I do have to admit, there was a fight or two between Flat top sailors and Tin Can sailors... usually stirred by a few too man shooters (cheap liquor). We all got over that too..
