Thought I would share the results of a survey sent to the attendees of the 2012 Gathering.

In summary. everyone had a great time, but would have liked more "down time" and/or "time to sit around and hang out with new/old members, and would have liked to have done something car related.

Overall, were you satisfied with the event, neither satisfied nor dissatisfied with it, or dissatisfied with it?
Extremely satisfied 17
Moderately satisfied 5
Slightly satisfied 0
Neither satisfied nor dissatisfied 0
Slightly dissatisfied 0
Moderately dissatisfied 0
Extremely dissatisfied 0

Was the event better than what you expected, worse than what you expected, or about what you expected?
Much better 11
Somewhat better 5
Slightly better 0
About what was expected 0
Slightly worse 0
Somewhat worse 0
Much worse 0

How organized was the event?
Extremely organized 20
Very organized 0
Moderately organized 0
Slightly organized 0
Not at all organized 0

How did you like the mix of activities?
It was perfect 11
It was good 8
It was fine 1
It could have been a little better 0
It could have been much better 0

What month would be your first choice for future Gatherings?
April 1
May 15
June 3
October 1

What is your preferred length for the Gathering?
3 Days 17
4 Days 3

If you could have added, changed or removed anything from the agenda, what would you have added, changed or removed?
The longer driving day (Savannah) moved to Friday and something close by on Saturday, the last day of the gathering. Just so there's not a long drive day before the long trip home. Would have really loved to tour the Aircraft Carrier Yorktown. Tried Friday night but they stopped selling tickets at 5:30. Just not enough time to get it in on this trip.

Added - something more car related, like a muesum or private collection Removed - one of the city tours. Both were interesting but there was enough overlap that one would have been fine

Gone to a Plantation in Charleston and skipped Savannah - not as interesting as Charleston and too far away for as busy as we were

Due to limited time in Savannah, I would have gladly swapped lunch for a museum or other similar activity.

not a thing

I really dont know anything that I would change

Visit/tour a plantation. Less eating; I'm still stuffed.

the only flaw (and this is soooo picky) I wished that we had a better place to congregate as a group just to B.S. maybe one night (if we had a reception type room) order in pizza so we can mix it up more. but as I said, this is so teeny compared to how grand this event was.

Maybe a little more free time. Would have liked to take tour of the aircraft carrier.

Savanah and Charleston tours were a bit redundant. Would have liked time to tour the Yorktown.

Either delete a meal or space out meal times if possible.

to much traffic. more tour time on lesser snarled highways, rooms and parking more centrally located for our group.

Added aircraft carrier.

I think the trip to Savannah should have been a single event for a whole day.

the dinner on Sat night was piling on - but it worked out just fine.

Fill in the blank: At future Gatherings, I would like to see ______ on the agenda.
A pace that gives enough time to get to know new folks and visit & catch up with old friends too.

GO-KARTS

Down Time / Car Time - had a great time, but needed down time to relax and time to look at everyone's cars

Less Food - maybe only one formal or organized meal per day and maybe some free time one of the days.

Maybe a time when everyone could be introduced and help break the ice. This may help the newer attendees blend with those ("seasoned") that have attended previous gatherings. Maybe it could be done at the first dinner for a few minutes. Ready for the next one!

Really depends on the area, but unique points of interest, museums, destination restaurants. I think past gatherings have done that.

More leisurly cruises like last year at MAM....although I realize that is tough near big cities.

more car related activities

Just add a touch more down time in between events. I think it may give the older folks or folks with disabilities a chance to catch up with the group.

more time to visit and re-new friendships, and make new friends. Maybe it's called "Down time".

A rest period, have to go home to charge battery!!!!

Q&A with the group maybe spotlight certain cars and let the owner discuss the resto project.

EBO and missing friends

Great survey and that is the way to make things better.

Sounds like you all had a great time.  I was not their but have one suggestion speaking as a new person which I will be when I come.  How about a name tag just the first name and the C3VR handle with www.C3VR.com on the bottom.

It makes all the difference in the world when you can address people by their first names.  Make it easier all the way around.

C3VR name tags are available and many of us do have them and wear them to events

As Marshall mentioned above, we do have name tags available, and I often make sure to remind everyone to order one before we head to a Gathering.  Most people there did have these on them during the last Gathering.  And it IS very helpful!

They can be found here:

From the "newest, attending member" the nametags were invaluable.  although looking at a nametag on a female, before their face, can be embarrassing.  girls should wear the name tags up at the neck lineEmbarrassed

Overall, it appears that everyone had a good time, and Clint did a smashing job of planning/executing everything. A little "down time" is always good, especially for those that do have to drive two days there/two days back. The gatherings have normally had several activities available for those who want to do something different from the "group", and that's always good. Mama & I usually pick one day of the event to just do what we want during the day, and then join in on group stuff in the evening. Keeps us from getting too tired, or worn out to enjoy the Gathering.

Anyway...so....what was the final tally on attendance, and did C3VR gain any new members as a result?
