Got her running today, woo hoo!
I'll post vid later on today or tomorrow, but it's alive. There were a few hitches this morning: 1) It was leaking at the fuel pump return line. Had to shut her down a few minutes in to the break in to tighten down the clamps. Then 2) it ran out of gas about midway in. Both re-starts were not easy, either. Hopefully the cam is OK, but it sounds good.
A number of bugs still to work out:
1. The hard starting issue. After we timed it, it was much easier to re-start with just a flick of the key and no gas, but now it's hard to start after letting it sit for awhile. My Edelbrock Q-jet has an electronic choke, I'm hoping it's just not dialed in correctly.
2. Clutch. Clutch is definitely not disengaging correctly. Can't get it into reverse with engine running and when I moved it into the garage it started creeping with the clutch fully pressed in. Had to yank it out of first before I ran into the front of the garage! I really really hope I can get this dialed in with the linkage adjustment. I'm guessing it's either the throwout bearing or the pilot bushing if it's not just an adjustment?
3. Air cleaner clearance. I posted about this a week ago and now the hood's on and I know I'm going to have to go to plan B. Pretty sure the shorter ass'y will work fine.
4. Power steering. All the components are installed but I did the break-in without putting belt on the pump - didn't want to have to deal with that while doing the break-in.
5. Oh yeah, little things like getting it licensed for the first time in two years and getting some insurance on it.
