Here is what the tool looks like. I am not sure what years might need this? I know my 77 does not. There is no button to hold in. I think it starts in 74 they are a combination valve it not only isolates the breaks if unequal pressure (leak) but lowers the pressure to the rear wheels during heavy breaking. It may be used on earlier non disc brakes or earlier distribution blocks. If the valve gets tripped the brake light will stay on. It takes a sudden hard break pedal push to reset it.
