greetings...
a childhood friends older brother had a 69 vette... i was in awe of that thing... he traded it for a new 74 and was in awe no more... a two owner 1970 came up for sale locally... the 70 something woman who owned it since 1988 could no longer work the clutch and put it in the front yard for sale... the sign said 1970 corvette 43k and the phone... after a couple weeks i called... said its 43,000 miles not asking $43k... we did the deal and here i am...
the story goes 1970 survivor stingray base 350cu 300hp corvette bronze/black... original owner 1970 to 1988 purchased off showroom floor with dealer installed side pipes... second owner 1988 at 25,000 miles to 2023 at 43,000 miles... woman driven since 1988 with just wear items and no aftermarket pieces... third owner (ME)... replaced fluids and been driving and digging it...
the plan is to keep it original... gonna take it to a c3 corvette shop for a punch list... everything works except the dash lights... the clock... and the radio... had it over a pit for inspection... it looks very good to me...
there you go...
johnny

greetings...
when we replaced the fluids we noticed the quickie lube the lady has been using must have messed up the oil drain threads... pulled the pan and tapped it from the inside out... used the blue felpro gasket #OS34509T...
ordered a door hold open spring and tool... there was no way we were gonna getts it on there... so went to the corvette connection in butler wi... they could not getts it on there... they came out with another new spring and tool... they had it on there in less than 60 seconds... the knock off spring i gotts from one the big corvette mail order joints was slightly imperfect and just wouldnt go...
