My front cover is warped right above my right side grill. It's bugging the Heck out of me. Is there a fix for this. Has anybody done something like this. Can it be glued or maybe a heat gun. I'd have to careful with that. I'd like to do something else than use the heat gun. Thanks for any help. this is an 80-82 cover. I can feel something under there that seems like it could be glued but I haven't been under the car to find out where the cover would glue to.Embarrassed

Bad newz Gator... I think your cover is tryin ta tell ya it's bout time for it ta go home to the big cover land in the sky. Usually before the rubber baby bumpers crack they start that wavy warping thing. I don't know of any way to save that.

You might start figuring out what your next gameplan will be. OEM, aftermarket has 2 versions of these type bumpers, or fiberglass. I'm guessing you have about a year maybe 2 before you will have to or want to make the swap. Good Luck.

zgator, mine is doing the same thing and so is every other 80 - 82 Ive seen in recent years that hasn't already been replaced with a new one.  I dont think there was any way to prevent it and have never heard of a repair other than replacement.  I dont like the waves in mine either but I'm living with them.  If your rear bumper spoiler isn't doing it yet, hang on...it will do the same thing.

My '77 had a wavy front bumper when I first got it.  Next came a small crack on the driver side of the bumper that got bigger and bigger.  Then came another small crack towards the middle that got bigger and bigger.  Then... my bumper pretty much fell off.  I got a TruFlex for the front that I quickly put on the front with a few retainers and I'm waiting to paint before I fit it much better.  My rear bumper is pretty wavy too, so I got a fiberglass replacement for that also waiting to finally take the painting plunge.  Urethane and fiberglass bumpers each have their advantages.

My rear spoiler is warped, but the front is OK so far. If you want it fixed you will have to replace it. A fiberglass one will not warp on you but if you get hit it will not give and will crack or break. I'm living with mine for now.

Well thats not good. My rear is fine and I just got that up front warp. I guess I'll let it ride for now. I've herad way to many horror stories about replacement bumpers. What ones fit the best with the least body work?

After the wrecker driver dropped both ends of mine, I went with fiberglass on both ends (this is an old pic).  They were wavy on the back and cracked on the front and since the wrecker company's insurance paid, I elected for glass after consulting with my painter.

Dave is right though, any bump will crack the glass so you have to know where your nose and tail are at all times...

It took him some work (nothing I would ever attempt) but he got a great fit.  I'll get around to posting pix someday.
