Trying to find some old mechanics from the 80's that may have experience using an Interrogator 1085 from Sun. I bought one an need some info. I want to use it as an oscillating scope and exhaust analyser but no instruction booklet and it seems year/model specific. Would like to find out how to use it as a general tester on my old junk!
Adam, can you help? (Not that I think your old , just you never let me down!) Lol thanks Rod

Free standing set-up, or "desk-top" tester? Does it have the 4 gas analyzer also?
We chunked one of those things in the dumpster years ago because we could not get it serviced any more, nor could we get any parts to repair it.

You MAY be able to contact Snap-On and see if they still have any user manuals or other PDFs for it....it's been so long since I used one I wouldn't have a clue on how to even turn it on....I'd hafta stare at it for an hour first....

Adam, here is a pic of the one i bought. What I am wondering is can I use this to check timing, hook up to have scope function, use the volt meter, tach, exhaust analyser and not sure if it has a dwell or anything else built into it. It only boots up with a disc for specific models in the floppy drive and I have not located in the discs I got a general disc. I have no knowledge with this type as the one dad had was probably 8 years older and analog. i would think there has to be a way to use on anything but so far I am not finding it. I dont need the printer functions and half the top is for that! It has a ton of accessory cables and also has a keypad as well. i got an operators manual and a diagnostics computer instruction with the unit however I cant seem to find out how to get outside the specific model years that the discs are for.
Thanks
Stingrayjim, thanks for the link. I have sent him a questions and hopefully he will have something for me. Appreciate your help!
Thanks Rodney

Here are the 2 books i got with the machine. Again I think I need a generic disc to work away from specific model and years on each disc.? Anyone know more that can help me understand?
Thanks Rodney

Did you get any discs with it, and if so, which one(s)?

Adam, Yes I did. Probably about 20 or more. They are all for models from 1980 - 1989. I'll have to take some pics of them for you. They vary from GM, Ford, Chrysler, Toyota, Nissan but are all listed as years from the 80's. I guess you would say they are not model specific as much as they are drievn by year. I tried a 2nd disc earlier tonight for a Ford. Both the GM disc and the Ford disc boot up and ask for the year. 198_ Then you finsih the year, once thats in it goes to the engine code. Thats as far as I went because believe it or not I didnt have my GM cars there tonight. But i did take some additional pics which I am going to try to post here in a reduced size.

I actually started laying out the disc to take a pic of them and then thought that was a waste. Damn, i should have followed thru with that! I will try to take some pics of them tomorrow and post them.
Thanks for your interest.
I really want to be able to make this work for dad. A scope is a special toy for him.

Hey Adam,
Did you ever get a chance to look over the list of discs I posted and do you think this machine has the capabilities to use on the cars from the 60's and 70's as a tuneup machine and oscilloscope or should I send it on its way? lol
It takes up a lot of space!
Thanks Rod
