I've had one for a few years now, just fastens with 4 screws and cleans up that area real good. It not very sturdy but is enough I guess. Just left mine black and it and fire wall sorta blend. See this older picture of mine, it shows it at an angle.

I was deciding on purchasing one but I found out that screwing into a original vette would kill me.... I'm trying to keep mine original until it blowes up or no more original parts are not produced or found anywhere.
Overall, if I did buy one I would keep it black as well.

I'll have to look into the double backed tape. No velco because that means I have to use glue. I can put the clear tape under the fiberglass edges.
Have to think about it and ask the other half on that. Or just buy it and only place it on an non-movement event. Without screw, tape or velcro. I will see....
