Rough Idle after Vette was in storage  - Submitted by: joe73vette
Out of storage rough idle is usually caused by a vacuum leak developing during storage as gaskets dry out. It pays to put some gas stabilizer in the tank and run it thru the carb so varnish doesn't form in the bowl over the winter. Most people don't need a new carb. You can find a vacuum leak by spraying starting fluid around the suspect areas. when you spray the vacuum leak the idle will speed up. One last thing, don't over tighten the two big bolts at the front of the carb, it is easy to warp the bowl and it will never run right. They only go about 5 foot lbs.
