Track usage?  Tracks?

Never mind, I clicked on the link and now I understand.  That could be a lot of fun.

For Saturday afternoon one of the things I would like to suggest the Tail of the Dragon, and perhaps a cookout?

The cook out we had at Hershey a few years ago STILL is one of my ALL TIME favorite Corvette Memories...and I have been in this hobby for over 20 years with lots of memories...

As far as this boy is concerned a cook out is mandantory... ! even if we have to stage it behind a Mickey Dees...

I will be in PF the entire week ... if anyone is getting into town  early
it would be nice to set up something so we early birds could plan a few early bird elbow bending sessions

We definitely need a mountain drive tour up through the Smokies. There are some killer twistys in the area.

Any locals around for reccomendations???

My G/F and I were thinking about spending some time at Dollywood. She Loves rides and I do also after I finish getting sick. A cookout sounds great along with the go carts.

Now Dave, I don't know about them there "Twisty's"! Is your wife driving them in the C4?

Mick...

Yep, she's driving them in her C4, but you'd best not be right behind her. Her personal speed limit is 45..... which is pretty hot for most of those roads, but she is not as big into G-forces and tire smoke as I am.

Heard about this registry site this past weekend at a Tampa Bay Vettes Cruise and a member of this forum told me about this event.   I work in Knoxville during the week and have made several trips thru the "twisties".  One nice tour is from Pigeon Forge to Gatlinburg, then the scenic pleasure cruise thru the park to Townsend.  From Townsend we head to the Foothills Pkwy which leads to the Tail of the Dragon.

Ron,

Welcome to the finest online (and offline) Corvette site.... always glad to see another Tennessean join the ranks. We gonna have a big time in Pidgeon Forge!!!!!

The Deals Gap and Tail of the Dragon tour sounds like "The Bomb". I drove them last time I was in the area over 20 years ago in a 944 and it was a great run. Just forgot the official name.

With my logistics of working in TN and living in FL I have to plan events.  I am working on being in TN for this one and hopefully I have enough head start!

I estimate the entire Pigeon Forge to Tail of the Dragon and back to be a "three hour tour".

Of course, we all know what happened to Gilligan and the skipper.....

If I recall, there was some suggestion about the "Stampede" get together, has that been considered? To me , that sounds like a hoot. Is it still in the running for the event?

I'm in for the Dragon on Saturday afternoon. Just need enough time after that run to "clean the drawers" before the evening's activities.

How about doing the Dixie Stampede on Thursday evening? Nothing is scheduled for that night.

Since Friday morning is appears to still be open how about a side trip to the Muscle Car Museum in Sevierville? Open 9-6 every day - with about 90 cars on site. I'd guess about 2-3 hours to see that many cars. A vette caravan there of "classic cars (sharks)" would be cool. Might be a guy thing - the ladies could hit the outlets or something else.

Alright, Alright... I'm all for giving Joel a beating, but let's please keep this thread on topic.  I think there are already enough threads about the Joel Revenge that we don't need to take over another one about it.

Thanks!

Adam,

My lady and I are going to TGI Friday's for dinner after we all return from the Tail of the Dragon.

Can you place TGI Friday's  down to fill the spot for the 6pm to 8pm on Saturday.   Need a sign up thread to see if anyone is interested in going with us.   Thanks.
Here is the agenda for the 4th annual gathering.

(Obviously, it is not yet complete.  As the agenda is worked on, it will be filled in here).

Thursday 6/22

 • Members Arrive

Friday 6/23

 • Prior to 9am: TBD
 • 9am: Meet at hotel to distribute Event T-Shirt that were pre-ordered
I would REALLY like it if I could get a group photo of everyone wearing their PF T-shirts to hang on our wall at the shop along with our other special clients.   A high resolution .jpg so I can print out a nice 5x7 or 8x10.

If this is possible, please e-mail to:  micktees@aol.com

I also want to thank everyone for the nice comments on the shirts.

Have a blast and be safe!

Mickey

A group photo has been planned, for Friday evening. Could we get all to wear the shirts then?

I added it to the agenda at the end of the Saturday Morning Member Meeting.  That way, everyone will be there, and will have their T-Shirts.  The Friday night group photo is with our Vettes.

any one who hasn't been across the tail of the dragon should take that ride. it's great. been across it a few times but not in the vette yet. just got it last September and still test driving it finding what to do to it. plan to come up on saturday in it and attend the meeting. i live about 40 or so miles from pf. want to meet some of you all and see your cars.  69redroadster38885.6908333333

I noticed a short blurb on the "Infamous Dragon's Tail" in the June 12th Autoweek recently.... This is going to be a real kick if we dont get stuck behind a local in her beige minivan.... I got stuck beind a couple of young girls in their little riceburner car Friday on my favorite 8 mile stretch of road doing 26 MPH slowing to 12 in the twisties.....    CRAP!!
