Gas Tank Sticker Location  - Submitted by: juliet
One should be glued to the top of the gastank on all sharks. There are second and possibly third copies stuffed in various places in the car. If the tank sticker hasn't decayed into oblivion or the tank hasn't been replaced before it should be there. Sometimes it's visible by peeking past the rubber gasket in the filler. Look on the driver's side. Sometimes they're on the top of the tank - other times over the edge towards the front. It all depends on the mood of the guy slapping on the glue at the factory and if he was distracted or not. ;) Some folks have been able to reach up & retreive (minimum glue solution) - but others have shredded it doing so. Your best bet is to drop the tank. That's not too big a deal if your exhaust is already out and the tank near empty. There a few straps holding it in & that rear bar with a few bolts. Of course you'll need the spare assy out of the way too. But it's pretty straightforward wrenching. It's a valuable piece of documentation for your corvette, especially if you have a collector or rarer set of options and are going the originality route. If your hotrodding the car then come resale time it won't matter price wise, other than sentimental curiousity and a cool old piece of paper which may or may not be readable.
