The passenger side vanity sun visor didn't light up and I replaced it. The old one didn't fit real tight up against the sun visor on the right side and the new one isn't much better, I have maybe an 1/8 inch gap between the visor and the plastic on the lighted vanity mirror and that should fit snugly up against the visor. The bushings that hold the vanity mirror in the visor seem to be good so I didn't replace them. I ordered 2 new bushings and will try that when they arrive but was wondering if this is something that the 1981 Corvette vanity mirror was prone to do, if so does any one have a good fix for the problem ?
I got it fixed. used a couple of stainless steel #6 x3/4 long pan head Philips head screws, drilled a 3/32 hole in the vanity on the outside of each light and drove the screws in the sun visor. Worked good, pulled the vanity mirror up tight to the visor the visor lid closes properly and it looks like the screws should have been that way in the first place.
